Nylon October 2007 : Cory Kennedy & Taylor Warren

i got this issue yesterday and it seems really empty to me..there are hardly any eds..and i thought that october was the location issue? or is it the november one?

That's Amour with Valentine Fillol Cordier
Photographed by Sebastian Kim

Scanned by jealous hearts

they layout for this month is awful! i get a headache looking through these photoshoots

Double exposure is a nice editorial, cool attitude and raw feeling. Obviously Taylor looks better...

Hardly any eds, lots of celebrity offspring.
I think November is usually the "Luxury" issue.

can someone post the pics with riley keough, that would be sooooo awesome:)

Yeah, Alice Dellal really is a douchebag. Even from that one snippet of an interview, I totally dislike the girl.

And yeah, Cory Kennedy tries way too hard...I'm almost embarassed for Nylon that they continue to push the "it girl" thing on people. She is NOT an it girl, and not every girl wants to be her.

I enjoyed Taylor's pictures/article though. It's good to see someone new, that actually has her own style and doesn't try to show off this "I'm an adult even though I'm 16 and too cool for school" sort of attitude.

ITA...and I found Cory to be very desperate...I mean she had a nervous breakdown just because she didn't achieve fame at a young age. That's a little strange...

Taylor kept it real...I love the quote...I would even do a tampon commercial...LOL...there wasn't any desperation.

Alice...yes...ew...

Is Cory trying to mask her bloodshot and unusally roll-y eyes on the cover or something? Because I am not fooled and think she looks like Mad-Eye Moody on a meth bender. And Taylor gave me permission to bash, so there. I don't particularly play the nice game either.

On the other hand though, I LOVE Valentine and the editorial. It's gorgeous and Taylor you look awesome too, congrats!

On the other other hand, Nylon is making me want to give up Myspace more and more and I have a feeling mine won't be around much longer if I keep seeing the words it and girl and sixteen-year-olds in garbage bags hailed as the next Edie Sedgwick. Actually, the name Edie Sedgwick is another one of my blacklisted.

But whatever. I've wanted to see more of those two for quite some time, and I got to, and Nylon wins this time.

Did she say that in this Nylon issue or are you referring to the i-D one ?
If it's the latter, I'm not a huge of fan of Cory but I don't think she said that, I guess from what I can remember, she said she wanted to acheive something ( some media/art related projects or stuff that deal with them as I interpreted it) and that she never came around making it by the time she reached 16.I don't think she meant that she got depressed because she was desperate to become famous.

God, I'm getting so nostalgic of the time when Nylon used to be an 'indie' (though I hate the word) fashion oriented magazine instead of this 'sold out' version that pimps myspace/hollywood/pop culture.

Wait, isn't Charlotte Casiragho dating Felix Winckler ?

This new article said she had to be hospitalized...so I'd say that may run a little deeper than just the usual depression that a therapist can treat...

She wanted to be known for more than just being a student...so I'd say this has all been calculated on her part...I mean she was sleeping with the guy from Cobrasnake at a young age and all of a sudden he makes sure her face is everywhere...I'm not saying...I'm just sayin'...:ninja:...the lines are easy to read between...

And Charlotte broke up with Felix for the fug "playboy" Alex Dellal...

Bah, I knew what you meant . :p

I'm not trying to be naive or anything but I guess that while I'm saturated by the usual 'young hollywood' scene and while I definitely can see Cory's flaws, I'm not that inclined to just 'vilify' anyone that easily.

Yes, she got depressed and got hospitalized , I still don't see why it's necessarily related to the fact that, according to you, she was so desperate to be famous.

She dated the guy from cobrasnake.Ok, they bumped into each other at gigs and parties several times, he started to take pictures of her because he thought she looked cool then they dated.I still don't see why dating a guy that takes pictures of you and put it on a website could mean that you're desperate to be famous.I can see it happening without necessarily blaming her for being an 'attention seeker'.I mean we could even say that that guy from the cobrasnake (his name is Mark ? I can't remember) knew right from the start that his website would gain some attention because of Cory, and therefore dated her, that seems just as much incoherent to me.
A lot of people (including me) want to be noticed/recognized for something else than just being a student, that doesn't necessarily imply fame.

I flipped through the mag today and it was so thin and half of it was celebrity coverage. It didn't look very interesting.

I think if what someone is chasing is in the entertainment fields...than one ultimately does want fame. Just one opinion...I can see you're taking the less cynical approach...LOL

I think teens are a lot more saavy about how to get known and famous these days...so to say it just happened...I can't believe it. It never just happens. And there was some recent study in USA Today that said 55% of high school students want to be famous...I'm really not surprised.
