Nylon October 2007 : Cory Kennedy & Taylor Warren

uh i thought this whole scene died out, who reads nylon anyway, the only girls i know that read it wear denim everything...

boring boring boring!
who wants to see these girls anyway? get a job!! and a life, for that matter.

ITA...and I found Cory to be very desperate...I mean she had a nervous breakdown just because she didn't achieve fame at a young age. That's a little strange...

Taylor kept it real...I love the quote...I would even do a tampon commercial...LOL...there wasn't any desperation.

Alice...yes...ew...

Did it ever occur to you Alice was joking during the interview? I agree it is strange for someone who is is virtually a nobody to have a nervous breakdown over not achieving fame.. a little wierd...

I'm sure she was but unfortunately for Alice...it didn't translate well to print and she came off like an ***...

I think if what someone is chasing is in the entertainment fields...than one ultimately does want fame. Just one opinion...I can see you're taking the less cynical approach...LOL

Firstly, that depends on the kind of audience you want to address yourself to.In my particular case, I was really into in acting for a long time, and that was never for fame, now I'm leaning towards film directing, and I know a lot of people who work or aspire to work in some entertainment/artistic field whose inital interest (or even the second) was not fame.So sorry, but your statement isn't based on any kind of valuable argument. At all..

I think teens are a lot more saavy about how to get known and famous these days...so to say it just happened...I can't believe it. It never just happens. And there was some recent study in USA Today that said 55% of high school students want to be famous...I'm really not surprised.

I agree about the first statement (about the fact that kids today are certainly more savvy about it all) but I wouldn't just link any aspiration that a teenager has to work in the entertainment fields as being some craving for fame.According to your poll, that still makes 45 % who wouldn't want to be famous , that's almost the half of them, secondly, anyone wants to be famous, just as much as anyone wants to be rich, if someone gets a well paid job that meets their aspirations and capacties, does that mean that their first and only interest was money ?

I don't want to appear as being *protective* of Cory, but if you want to judge someone , a) rely it to something substantial , so far she never said that she had a nervous breakdown because she was so desperate to be famous 2) I wouldn't talk about someone's nervous breakdown that lightly.

I think it is!

I do think people in that business...actors for example...maybe some are just in it for the art. But I think eventually you'd want to be noticed in a big way...maybe not stalked by paparazzi...but at least well known. Whether your focus is stage acting or movie stardom.

It's definitely an interesting conversation to have, especially in a thread about It Girls looking to find their niche. The people who play it cool and say they don't want fame or just want to work and be left alone...I think they are just as eager to be in the spotlight. Some people are just better at masking it...IMO...understatement is in right now anyway. No one wants to look desperate...the public is becoming way more saavy and cynical with all these blogs exposing the famewhoring ways of celebs...

I think it is!

Really ? So far, it's only based on your subjective point of view on the matter which is rather filled with cliches and isn't based on any consistent informations. My opinion happens to be just more 'doubtful' and questioning yours.

Wow, I do hope you were referring to the 'It Girls' scene because that does picture me as being some kind of a hypocrite or a liar. :flower:

What I said goes beyond just It Girls...it's an observation of not only seeing enough people trying to break into the business up close, but also just seeing the continual rise and fall on various gossip blogs and magazines of the new generations and how they play the game. I'm not coming at you...

My opinion is what it is...you're clearly leaving it instead of taking it ^_^ and that's okay. But I think I made enough valid points...clearly I am more cynical about this than you are...but I said that right off the bat. :flower:

LOL well I do not know who either of them are, but I have seen pics of Cory Kennedy but I have not seen Taylor Warren before at all  Do not kill me!

Can i just say, yey for valentine!!
I havent seen her around for a while so its good to see an ed in a big mag!!

Has anyone in France got this ?

That's strange it's still not out here and yet the former issue has been out for a month and a half now.

Nylon takes a really long time to get to my book shops locally, and I live in the US! LOL I have no idea why...especially when international magazines come in much faster...

Yeah, I mean, that's why I'm asking, generally it doesn't take too long to get them. But I was worried because we've had the past issue in stands for a month and a half (Haha, I already saw the last issue in Beirut...at the end of August, since then I haven't seen the present Nylon issue).

Taylor you honestly looks very glam and very sexy here...
Too bad there was Cory beside you -_-

couldn't you just kick her away at the time of the "click!"?

she also can't model:ninja:
