Obsessions.. what can't you stop buying?

Obsessed with these little coach bags ever since I spotted Hanneli rocking one a couple of weeks back. Didn't realise coach made anything nearly this stylish.

Mine are a bit weird...

Loads of candles, Bath & Body Works autumn/winter smells (LOVE the leaves! So bummed they got rid of Spice :( ), pretty fabrics, precious stones, DIY crafty stuff, and essential oils for oil burners.

About a year and a half back, I got a very deadly virus which totally knocked me over for perfumes.

I must have bought about 30-40 perfumes over a span of about six months. During this time, I was so obsessed that I would just read and read about perfumery and reviews of latest perfumes & youtube videos. Ebay turned into my regular haunt again as I tried to find old and obscure perfumes which people raved about.

Im so glad that virus got bored or something.

cherry print stuff except I haven't found anything so far. I really want cherry print rockability looking things but I haven't found anything around Canada in years. I don't want to order off the internet. I've had cherry print shoes and a cherry print top as well as cherry accessories, I love it.

i cant stop buying candles, nail polish, skull ornaments, magazines and dvds

nude or flesh-toned eyeshadows or bases
vintage jacquard playsuits or dresses
oversized terrycloth sweatshirts (...that i wear inside out)
ankle/combat/moto boots - with lug/flat soles, especially if made from distressed/ombre nubuck suede.

i have this illness for cute, furry accessory/make-up/cosmetic bags. i don't know why but i am just obsessed with them.

yeah- i recently bought three more scarves...
and another pair of boots...

these are clearly my weaknesses...

:ninja:...

used to be the margiela artisanal series `0`, esp after he left the house...these days are more cashmere stuff, or leather stuff.
just saw a croc skin `carpet` today, but it costs 10 grand even after the discount, had to walk away...thought it will look good in the house, although probably a bit overpowering...

^^haha...
i priced a piece of artwork...
the small one was 10 grand...
and the large one that i really wanted?
50 grand...
...

time to get out the paintbrushes...:innocent:

if i like an expensive artwork, i recreate it using vector graphics and have it sent out to be printed.

my #1 addition has to be leather garments and accessories. it holds up well and holds value more than any other material IMO.

I really like Georgia O'Keeffe, which needless to say I can only afford as a poster. I once saw a painting by her cousin (2nd cousin or something ...) Virginia Beresford. Primary colors, abstract seascape with boats. Have never heard of her, but it was still $20K ... I am even pickier about art than I am about clothes, so my taste outpaces my wallet quite quickly.

I had six months + this year when I bought nothing at all, so I can stop buying everything ... for awhile ;)

how the hell did you do that? did you make a list to keep track of stuff you wanted? was there stuff you fancied that you re-evaluated later and found you didnt want it?

i think you should print out georgia o'keefe's husbands photos!!

^ Well, for one thing, I had everything I really needed, so like enough things in the lingerie drawer to keep me going, etc. I had other priorities that took precedence. I did not keep a list ... I didn't think about wanting anything ;) Since I knew I wasn't buying, I also wasn't looking. But really, my wardrobe is in a pretty good place right now--there aren't any gaping holes. I just bought a bag for the first time in years--the basic black bag I've been wanting for a long time.

Stieglitz is (was) very good. There was a small show here recently, but when I saw it was only a dozen or so photos, I wasn't sure it was worth it to get over there. Not sure about his, probably not that affordable, but the nice thing about photos is they're much more affordable than paintings. I have a couple from the Eames's collection that were exhibited. I also have a digitally-manipulated photo (or actually, maybe darkroom-manipulated? not sure) I really like from a local artist.
