Meet the Models — Ollie Henderson
Meeting her will most definitely make you want to bleach your eyebrows

Ollie Henderson is just one of those girls who is so cool. Let me illustrate my point: at the casting we held with Mark Vassallo and Yimmy Yayo, she was wearing a green silk kimono, a black velvet dress, some kind of Victorian-esque high-collared blouse and a crystal necklace. Her whole look reminded me of David Bowie in The Labyrinth. Nothing about her is pretentious, she sweats charisma, and meeting her will most definitely make you want to bleach your eyebrows.

Ingrid Kesa: How old are you, Ollie?
Ollie Henderson: I’m 21.

What agency are you with?
I’m with Chic.

I saw you in the LIFEwithBIRD show this morning.
Yes, that was me!

Was the a good warm-up for Fashion Week? Was it a good experience?
It was. It was a great experience. It was very well organised. I think it’s a pleasure working with Mark Vassallo because he cracks the whip in a gentle way. The clothes were beautiful and the setting of the Opera House is always gorgeous.

I know, how good is the Utzon Room? I wish it was my house.
Yeah, totally!

So you’ve walked in Fashion Week before. How many have you done?
In Australia, I’ve done two.

Did you walk in any of the international shows last season?
No, not yet. Next season will be my first international season, I’m nervous.

You’re just going to have to be prepared not to sleep for a month!
[Laughs] Yeah, I don’t even know if there can be any preparation. Just go in there and do it.

Have you done your walk yet?
No, I haven’t yet. I’m looking forward to it, it’s going to be a great walk [laughs]. Sorry, sarcasm!

Do you still get nervous doing walks like this?
Not really. I feel pretty confident with my walk now because I’ve been doing it for a little while. There’s always the bad day where you get nervous about everything which obviously leaves you getting nervous about your walk but most days are good days. Most days I feel good about my walk.

Mad necklace, did you make it?
No, I got it from Billy Bride, this great Australian designer.

Yeah, her stuff is really cool.
I like the four rings that sit on top of your fingers, I think that’s going to be my next purchase.
