Omahyra Mota

i agree with being so mad at 17 she should be enjoying life- also i think i read somewhere in this thread that she started at 10? that is disgusting..... putting girls through that is wrong. i even have trouble with the teenagers as fashion, sex symbols.... they grow up way too fast....

I'm glad she's not another cookie cutter blonde giraffe sashaying down the runway. She's got presence, which is a lot more than you can say for many of the models out right now.

i dont find her attractive at all - and think she is giraffe looking imo...

I think she has a really unique look...

I like it. She seems to be very professionnal.

I saw her once on the Fashion Channel, and let me tell you, she sounds pretty dumb !

I think it's hard sometimes for models to come across as intelligent when they're speaking something other than their native tounge.. IMO anyway :flower:

i found this while reading the january 2004 issue of i-D (Posh Beckham cover  ):

"From catwalk queen to rock goddess, let your jaw drop for Omahyra. She kinda scares us...

In the click of a mouse it was almost forgotten. But for one fly minute over the summer, an internet debate raged through the wire on The Fashion Spot messageboard. It began with a simple question: what were the pants that Omahyra Mota Garcia was wearing in a magazine spread? And it ended up taking a more sinister turn. "She kinda scares me," mused Juniper Bug, "but I like it."
"Okay," retorted Lolita Luxe. Omahyra elicits this kind of chow..."

it goes on to talk about her upcoming album (with fellow models mayana moura and isabel ibsen) and it says that, "The pants were by Viktor & Rolf by the way."

this is really for real. check out pages 154-155 of january i-D. i would scan it but i'm nowhere near a scanner at the moment. the person who wrote it is paul flynn. maybe he still lurks these boards and will reveal himself (not literally tho, i hope  :yuk: )

tFS is going to be BIG! LolitaLuxe overnight celeb. ;)

One question though someone said the pants were by Heatherette right?

Why is the article saying that everyone started saying bad things about her I mean seriously did he read it? And did Lo say that?

i met her when i interned at Sony Music in LA...shes actually REALLY nice and friendly....and you guys are right, she is a lot shorter than you'd expect
Her Milano agency lists her as 5'8/5'8.5. You can always trust Milano agencies, they never lie about a models height. B)
