hi everyone...

first time to post! ^_^

anyway am thinking of buying a papillon 26 but i'm torn which one to get...a damier or a monogram canvas.

lemme know what you think. i hafta be super sure since this is going to be my first (and prolly last) LV purchase. :p

Thanks!!!

Well I would go for monogram canvas simply there is smth i just dont like about damier. I really depends if you like logos or not because some people it really annoys.

Both are extremely timeless and stylish. I like the Damier much more because of the color combonation and the darker handles won't show dirt as easily, but it is more of a Fall/Winter bag. The Monogram is an all-season bag but you have to condition the handles so they change color at the same time, and the Monogram is tired.

Id get the Damier if it were mine, but for someone who could possibly be getting one LV bag ever Id say the Monogram.

eeeeveryone has the monogram papillon... get the damier

I think the damier is more masculine. but in the end, you have to decide which you like better in your heart regardless of what other people have or like.

Prob damier since the monogram is way too overexposed, but if it was going to be your only LV, then maybe opt for the monogram. I have the pap 26 in mono and i love it, though the handles do get dirty rather easily.

yes the monogram gets dirty too easily =/ and everyone has it but i still think its cute. i'm not a big fan of the damier, my mom has one and ugh! i hate it.. but whichever one YOU like is the only opinion that really should count!

keep in mind also that the leather straps on the monogram will get darker as they age... whereas the damier will remain the same

Definitely, definitely the Damier. But once again, I am from the no-logo brigade. If I ever buy a LV, it would be from the epi colletion.

mmmm oh my gosh... have you considered the sufflot?! it has the barrel shape and comes with a little coin purse or whatever they call it

am actually lusting after the soufflot but that's totally out of my league (and budget). someone's selling me a yellow soufflot (sans the coin purse thingie) for about 1000 USD.

aw... maybe you should save up a bit? the red or black sufflot are gorgeous...

go with the monogram.. i dont like damier at all

how about vernis bedford?

the vernis costs too much...

moments like these you just wish that money grew on trees...

I personally never liked the Vernis, it is so tacky and bland at the same time. Ive only seen one person ever carry it and that was my friends mom, she got the Biscayne, which I HATE.

What about the Suhali Pochette? It pretty much exactly like the Monogram Pochette just with the Suhali leather and details (which are gorgeous) I don't know the price since it isn't on Eluxury.com and the clerk at the LV in Tysons is practically ******** (he was confused about which bags are Suhali). I did see it on thier website in the Suhali pop-up.

I just looked on Vuitton.com and in the Suhali pop-up the pochette is no longer listed in the collection (there are two new GORGEOUS bags) so I suppose the Pochette was too cheap for the ultra-highend Suhali line.

I didn't have any homework so I got bored, these are some suggestions for you. Im staying with LV and below $550.

The Speedy 30 - $560.00

They also have the Speedy 25, which is $20 less but I thought why not. God I love the Speedy it never goes out of style and is a lot larger than the Pochette, but at the same time I think only a few women can pull it off without looking like it's fake or that they're carrying thier Mother's bag.

Marelle Pochette - $465.00

p10774165_ph_hero.jpg

No, it's not just a clutch like you're thinking, it is a small bag (9.8" x 4.1") that comes with a belt so you can wear it around your waist or you can use it as a clutch, I love both ways you can wear it.

Accessories Pouch - $250.00

p10022588_ph_detail_01.jpg

Multicolour - $530.00

Damier (AKA Navona) - $340.00
p10398710_ph_hero.jpg

Epi - $335.00
p10260391_ph_althero_Myrtille.jpg

There is a reason why everyone has this (fake or real) it is dirt cheap for it's size and the fact that it is LV, Im surprised it isn't like $400. It is a chic shape although since it is so overly saturated there could be a credibility problem. The Multicolour, I KNOW, so overdone and it is the most copied LV ever but I still love it, even more in Black because it is daring. The Damier's squares make this bag rather bland. The Epi version solves the credibility problem but the Epi may be a bit too matronly, although the eye-popping colors available remedy that problem plus it is super-sleek.

Sonatine - $570.00

p10397718_ph_detail_03.jpg

Yes, it is $20 more but I love the shape of it and the fact that is is so unique, I think it came out for Fall 04. It is a bit like the Papillon but a bit more oval and more sleek. I love how young and sophisticated it is.

Twin Clutch - Large - $450.00

p10192106_ph_detail_01.jpg

That bag is soo utterly chic but at the same time sporty. It can be seen as very matronly since that is very similar to my 55 year old Aunt's bag. Nice though.

After looking at Eluxury.com so much I think I may treat myself to the Monogram Cerises Pochette Clés, I don't like the bigger "here's the monogram" bags but this little cutie is perfect on my keychain.
