Stefan Cooke signature knit vs Valentino fw21View attachment 1169050 View attachment 1169051
...About the Valentino cut-out tricot, I can trace the original fashion inspiration further back in time to those Versace/ Versus/ Istante spring-summer collections 1994, especially because I remember me drooling from desire in front of their shop windows all around Italy. I was still a student and their knits were much too expensive for me, as their flashy belts by the way, but at that time they were the HIGHEST of cool for me. Versace used yellows and greens. Valentino a much too easy black, for corporate selling reasons, I suppose

There's a designer, Isabel Sanchez, who seems to copy a lot. I have several of her copied dresses saved to my Instagram and pinterest, but I'm too lazy to post anything right now. Her copies are pretty blatant too, though she tends to copy older works.

Miuccia always loved ripping off 60s/early 70s designers.
I personally felt that she was more inspired by designs of that period and she twisted them around to modernize them for the 90's/00's. Much like how Marc Jacobs interprets other designers in his works.
