Pairing Shoes with Clothes Help Thread

if the sash is gold color then gold strappy sandals will do. the dress is nice. have a good time!

caffeine, i think the marc by marc are the cutest, but to be honest not sophisticated enough for your personal style imo, the balenciagas are great too..

proenza schouler did a really gorgeous pair of lace up boots that i could see as being quite a good match with an a-line mini, perhaps check them out?

caffiene, I like the first marc by marc the best but wouldnt the brown/tan be limiting? I dont think it woudl go will with the black/gray skirt.

Thanks Cavanaugh and GG!

Cavanaugh, I have a pair of McQueen boots from last winter and I found the heels are not chunky enough...same feeling towards the Proenza Schouler and Versaces (although I really don't mind getting a pair of the Versaces...they are so classic!)

GG, the Marc shoes are actually black/dove grey. they are really sporty that's why I like them.

The Balenciaga are hands down my favorite but unfortunately none of the stores bought it...sigh...

dotz, even though you are taller I think something along the lines of this marni would be nice. thicker straps and a wood stacked heel.

caf, I thought these might work. they are fun but still very business-minded. also, the jil sander wedge from last year would look great with that skirt.

Thank you!
yeah can't forget about the Jil Sanders.
hmmm not I am asking myself why I LOVE those Balenciaga shose so much  why oh why?

call mona moore they tend to buy a lot of the more unique balenciaga shoes. also doesn't the store have a list of who bought them, if not, ask if you can have the email address of the buying office to locate them. that has worked well for me in the past when I am trying to locate what store bought a particular item.

^oh agreed, they are my favorite boots ever...

my mom has them in nude patent, and i die a little bit each time she wears them

maybe try the versace outlet at woodbury commons?

I have a bday party this weekend and I was going to wear this dress in yellow, with the pictured tights and the lady gris black shoes...not wearing that belt on the dress tho...have something else.. what do you think?

exotic
I think these shoes are a bit in 40 style, so I would wear them with something longer - knee lenght.
maybe something like:
Narciso Rodriguez dress
or
Lela Rose dress
NAP.

Cocktail Party.....

Hello All....

My husband and I are heading for a holiday cocktail party next week... I am wearing this Stenay Sequin Dress...what are your thoughts on shoes? I am thinking pairing it with my patent nude YoYo...sexy but not to take the focus off the dress:blush:

Other 'in house' options are my Manolo Sedaraby (Silver)...?

TIA!:flower:

aris, I would go with a short wool mini, somthing akin to the vanessa bruno one that's been popping up on this board.

ciao bella, I think your silver manolo's are a great choice. they won't take away from, but accentuate the dress. the yo-yo's in nude just don't seem right for such a glitzy dress.

Thanks Bagladyshoegirl and luckyme.... that is my feeling on the YoYo..too simple for sequins and I was worried the Sedaraby would be too much with sequins... so you think Silver Sedaraby?
I may have another option that I will post later today... A Red BCBG Marilyn-isque dress and Nude Patent YoYo...hmmmm, what to do? I will check back...

Anyone have a 39 in the CL Bling Bling I can borrow for the night:brows::ninja:
