Pairing Shoes with Clothes Help Thread

FashionBody31, my personal view is that with these shoes - if you decide to wear fitted dress it needs to be longer - like the RM dress, if you preffer short the def go for something roomier Pucci.

FashionBody31: the 3rd dress is a no no.

Depends on the event though. If it's a "serious" event, the 2nd dress is the most appropriate one.

Dresses all seem fine. Can't stand the shoes, they look like some kind of Chinese finger puzzle gone wrong.

I've always seemed to dislike open-toe boots as well as those that look more like sandals than proper boots. And I'd rather go with sleek ankle booties than boots trying to be sandals. For alternative shoes, the ones worn in the two pictures in Post #441. The T-strap shoes with the ankle wrap is a nice shoe to wear instead of those grotesque Givenchy shoes. Even better are the lovely sandals on the second model. I also love the second model's dress as well. Nice pictures posted.

with black tights as it is cold...

I would go with the MJ it adds contrast and I would ditch the watch sorry

What shoes would you wear with a tiered dress?

(if you were to wear a tiered dress) The dress in question is black silk chiffon.

If the dress is a mini, I would avoid very high heels. 'Character shoes' look great with tiered dresses. Good luck!

'character shoes'...
meaning mary janes or t-straps i guess...
and i agree....

:flower:

though it IS a bit of a cliche...
maybe a peep toe bootie is a more modern updated version...?

:p

i would wear something like a louboutin rolando or ysl tribute sky high stiletto pump. doesnt need to be a brand name but the style is what i see working.

Pointed flats might work (unless the dress makes a person look short :p).

Yes, you can't go wrong with mary janes paired with a tiered dress - though you are right, it is cliched. A peep toe bootie would be fabulous! I have a very old cute pair by Betsey Johnson...hm, must find a tiered dress now! (wink!)

Never peep-toe boots. Never ever with anything.

A simple black dress sandal, one strap across the foot above the toes, maybe either an ankle strap or a slingback.
