to go with this dress?

cutxpaste...did you ever find anything to wear with this dress? I would probably go for something that is a teal or purple color to accent the flowers of the dress, like these:

ILC, that's a FANTASTIC match. good eye

I have a wedding in Newport, RI next weekend at the beach under a tent. I'm wearing my either wearing my Dries Van Noten dress or my Chloe dress. how about the silver Dries shoes with both? keep in mind I'll be on grass most of the time. I'm afraid a sandal would be too casual.

ILC, those are lovely but so out of my price range. I ended up getting some very nice pump patent leather HIGH pumps with a black lacquered heel

LuckyMe - since you're going to be on grass, perhaps a wedge would be more practical than a heel, in a material that won't be damaged by moisture?

Me thinks you linked the wrong image. All I see is one part of one leg badly in need of a razor.

luckyme, i like the idea of those with the dresses, and the heel should be substantial enough for grass.

:ninja:cavanaugh, your avatar is wonderful.:ninja:

I wore the blue/grey Dries dress with the silver shoes and it was perfect match for the weather this weekend in newport and the tone of the wedding. it always impresses me how Dries can make a 4" heel so darn comfortable that I can stand in them for hours, not many achieve that.

taintedinnocence, I can't see the image through the link, maybe post a picture instead of the link?

^thanks, and i bet you looked fantastic at the wedding (you went with the right dress imo)

Suggest something in White or Silver.
I'd wear a covered style will work better to play down the feminine floral motifs myself.

It's a lovely dress by the way!

thanks guys, the dress and shoes were the right choice. it was a gorgeous spring night on the water. my husband agreed on the Dries dress, he commented that the Chloe was more suited for formal wear.

anyone else having a "pairing" dilemma?

bridesmaids dress

help! - i am in a wedding this summer and the bride is deciding what shoes for us to wear. one of the bridesmaids wants us to wear dyeable shoes - yikes!
i am trying to talk her out of it, but i need more suggestions...
here is the dress - the color is palomino (champagne) and the wedding colors are shades of pink (our flowers) and gold.

what i suggested was a strappy gold sandal. any other ideas....imo - the dress is very structured and therefore needs a less structured shoe. does that make sense?

the natural answer is to wear these with skinny jeans or pants. can anyone think of more interesting ways to wear them?

mona, strappy gold sandal would be perfect, and yes I agree delicate is better with a structured dress. talk her out of dyed shoes, please...

porkchop,I could see those with a pencil skirt and tights maybe even a colored sock.

porkchop - I wonder how those would look with something like this:

Otherwise, like luckyme said, any sort of pencil skirt would likely look nice with the shoes.
