i adore such fashion moments. it feels so awkward yet beautiful when someone like lily appears in this kind of visualizations. it's not about being scared of frontal nudity, nor about being puritan (what can we expect from teller?). it's about this cultural paradox. we're used to see lily over-geared and glamorizing wearing amazing gowns and make-up and we tend to take that for granted - i mean this 'full-package version' seen in her eds and on the catwalk. and then it comes out that it's just an ordinary young woman, who has asymmetric breasts, who has pubic hair, who has... vagina. as diesel says: 'human after all'... such vision studies (i like to call these images that way) have very concrete sense - they blur the line between erotic, sex and fashion (not art). because human body and nudity were always a part of art (whether as an object or as an inspiration). but to see a high profile model, who gets millions for her appearance and reputation, to see this girl in such an odd way - it makes you redefine your own attitude to what's beautiful, what's sexy and what's vulgar. after all it makes you think of what IS fashion.
teller is an amazing person, who talks not about nudity and sex, but about our attitude TO nudity and sex. as freud said 'we are what we dream about'.
bravo, lily. she's even more intelligent than i thought.
