Was buying this brand to get the rights to "Joy" really worth it?

I always thought this was an attempt from LVMH to re-enter the elevated contemporary market (and fill out a more accessible offer in their new department store) to compete with the likes of Jacquemus, but there's really been no evolution in the creative direction or product offer to make this brand stick out at all.

The right question should be: was opening a fashion house solely because of Sidney Toledano believing in Guillaume Henry and his dream to work for Patou on a contemporary fashion project really worth it?


I don’t think Guillaume Henry is gifted enough to have done it for him. I don’t think the project is solid. Patou is not needed and at the same time his voice as a designer either. So they have to make a drastic decision at this point.

Discontinuing the iconic fragrances was the dumbest business move, it was the foundation of the house and brand usp, this is nice but its nothing special either , you can get this at Sezane or Sandro lol
