I never thought I'd come around to this but I'm starting to like her. When I first saw her c. 2000 (around the time of her American debut), I, like most others, thought: WTF is that?! The formation of her features is nearly flawless but the placement is so wrong as her nose practically merges with her mouth (I like this flaw in some women, but she takes it to an unfortunate extreme). In fact I think I have yet to see a Penelope movie in which I can discern some space between her nose and mouth, but.....
To compound matters she vacillates in a pendulum-like way. Sometimes she shocks the hell out of me by taking a great picture naturally looking the part of the sexy, smokey Spanish siren. Other times, she's more reminiscent of a drowning rat with a merged nosemouth.
Her eyes, brows, and natural almost-raven coloring are all lovely. Witness:
I love her deep, sensual eyes and smokiness.
To sum up she's usually sexy, but rarely beautiful, yet always eye-catching (whether in a good or bad way). She also has truly one of the most gorgeous bodies I've ever seen of anyone (celebrity, actress, model, athlete, real life) making full use of her petite 5'4" height and occasionally looking taller than that.

the bangs do so much for her face, by drawing more attention to her face and making her look more sophisticated. it's a beautiful look! i have never seen anyone wear bangs as well as she does.

France's cultural elite have honoured Hollywood actress Penelope Cruz with one of the country's highest accolades - the Knight of the Arts and Letters award. As beau Matthew McConaughey was tied up collecting a gong of his own in the US, the Spanish star took along two other special guests - pal Salma Hayek and younger sister Monica - to Wednesday's ceremony.

The Latin performer's latest silver screen project sees her teaming up with 39-year-old Salma to form a gorgeous bank-robbing duo in Bandidas. The English-language comedy, which was written by French director Luc Besson, follows the two glamorous gunslingers as they cause havoc in turn-of-the century Mexico.
One honour Penelope may think she's worth is her new contract to represent L'Oreal. An ad she's filmed for the beauty giant will air during the Golden Globes ceremony next Monday.

I like her candid style - it's quite laid back yet smart - reminds me a lot of Jennifer Aniston.
One outfit of hers that I loved was a candid one I saw in Vogue where she has jeans, a grey over a black shirt, black flat pointed shoes and a beanie hat with dark sunglasses on - I remeber it because it was a real classic look. Ring any bells with anyone?
