Great pics Urd. Thanks for posting source. ;)

This style is way too colorful for me and I don't see it becoming a major trend anytime soon...... I think the fact that we're moving away from the boho scene means we won't be back into colors anytime soon...

I agree, the only thing I can see myself wearing would be the white embroided kenzo top.

but I'm not ready to let go off pompoms :p

seems to me like it's been a quite trend for the last few seasons no?

i like some of it, particuarly the prints and the colours. not quite into ponchos..they're a bit exaggerated for my taste. ^_^

Peru is there fr fw05.06 and is destined to evolve much more in the seasons to come.. it's the 'new' ethnic direction, trying to 'launch' for quite some seasons now

Kenzo had a small Peru section which cross over to his Russian Babushka theme, as in the red print cape dress posted at *5 here, where the fabric is influenced by Russia, the shape by latin America...

thanks for the topics and the pictures urd :flower:

here another Peru/Inkas inspired look by Antonio Maras for Kenzo

I like this trend very much but i cant see it becoming very mainstream ... due to the popularity of ponchos and mukluks etc. last winter, its quite simular and i think people will be bored of the whole general style.

i think you are right tiamaria, and anyway its not for me, slightly heavy for my mood for next season
...still there is something fresh and slightly more 'extreme' in the fw05.06 version of the 'native' chic..
somehow is a homage to all ancient civilisations, this trend is overlapping native north as in viking, the 'inuuit/eskimo' and steppa/russian influences, its a kind of ancestrory melting pot, very appropriate and in tune with todays cultural mix and 'back to the roots' trends
