quite a good collection from Peter Som,
i like his choice of colors and the 40's/50's inspired shapes :flower:

I just read a review on Peter Som's collection by Marilyn Kirshner on lookonline.com (newsletter). I really dont agree with her -- she basically said his collection was unoriginal, and uninteresting. She said its appeal is nothing more than its preppiness.

I dont consider my tastes "preppy"...but I really like this collection from Som. The lines are clean and so flattering. The colors are smart and interesting. Also I notice that the garments actually fit well, the fabrics seem well chosen for the cuts.

I am so over some of these other bloated designers who's garments dont wear well, yet they are so lauded.

all the designers have the exact same influences ....im getting mixed up.
i feel like ive seen this collection already.....or maybe i have

I like it alot. But I agree with Lolita, all designers has the same influences and look the same..

its just the fifties/preppy trend taking NYFW by storm. ;)

like all popular seasonal moods its been translated by so many for fw04, its quite normal, still i think that every designer has created a personalized take on the 50s

I'm loving Peter Som right now! I never paid him much mind before until I saw some of his work today. I couldn't resist picking up a skirt in the purple floral of the second set of pics posted. I think what sets it apart is the fabulous cut and the choice of colors.

Yeah, this isn't anything spectacular or interesting. I've seen it all before.

I adored the spring collection . Probably because had a few pieces of jewely from my spring collection that went perfectly with his pieces. I ended up buying a couple shirts.

This was a little bit of a let down for me. I was a little disapointed. I'll be interested in seeing spring 2005.

It's okay, pretty basic... not my style. I don't know that I've seen too much of Som with which to compare it, but the collection just seems a little mono-thinking.

I like it. The colours are refreshing, but as said, we've seen it before.

I like his take on the trend. I have loved Prada's, and Perry Ellis also. Just a good ,
I think that era is always good, a great foundation for fashion and individual style to revisit often. I love seeing women dressed like this!!!! Very lady like, which is sexy to me.
