i searched and couldnt find anything sorry if this is a duplicate

ive onyl just got into him
my art teacher and many people had told me i would love him since i love minimalism, but i had no idea i wuld love him this much

i especially love Knee 1 on Einstein on The Beach

i'm a fan too !!

ever since watching The Hours
he created the soundtrack

i recently found an album of his, called Glassworks
& a couple of the songs are pretty much exactly like the ones in The Hours, just tweaked a bit :o

I love Phillip Glass

the pieces he composed for Koyanniskatsi and Anima Mundi are chilling to say the least

I saw his opera Appomattox in San Francisco last year and thought it was very good. It was such a weird concept, a Civil War-themed opera, but it turned out to be pretty interesting. The music was easily the best part - very nuanced.

I love Philip Glass!

His music is often used in runway soundtracks ie. Marc Jacobs Fall 2006 - the entire soundtrack was "Heroes".

I think Philip Glass in incredible.

His work for The Hours is magnificent..."Morning Passages" is one of the most stirring songs I've ever heard.

I also love "Heroes" (the Marc Jacobs FW 06 song). It evokes everyday heroism so poetically. It's really just a stunning song.

is heroes still up online? ^ :shifty:

love Morning Passages as well.. :crush: it's the one I play the most

why do they call his work minimalist?

^^I've read that his work is considered minimal because his pieces were generally repetitive and spare, but from what I understand, Glass rejects this label.

Marc Jacobs is definitely a fan, he's used "Company" - Mvt. II at the F/W 11.12 show for Vuitton and The Photographer: A Gentleman's Honor for Vuitton F/W 12.13, I know Lee McQueen counted himself as one of his admirers also.

I'm also a huge fan, I've got a couple of his albums on my iPhone 4S... I'm sure they're my most listened to out of everything else and it's time his thread was revived again.

Also, according to wikipedia;-
Alexander McQueen's Fall/ Winter 2007 Menswear fashion show used a mash up of Bowie's "Heroes" with Glass' "Heroes."

He's got a new album out on 4th September 2012, Glass: The Passion of Ramakrishna.
