Please Help Me With My Homework/Research/Survey

I hope this is okay to post here...
I am currently a senior in high school and applying to colleges. I'm writing my application essays right now and having some trouble with it! If anyone is willing to read my essay for the UC schools and give me feedback, please let me know!! I would rather not post it on the internet, but I could use all the help I can get! :)
Here are the schools that I am thinking about:
UCLA, USC, Pepperdine, and Occidental as my top 4, and then as backups: UCSB, UCSD, UC Irvine, San Diego State University and University of San Diego.

What's your view on Dutch fashion?????

Help me..... with my research assignment!!!
Hi everybody,

For a Master project I'm interested in what you guys know about Dutch fashion. Which designers, commercial brands, advertisment....etc. But please also let me know if you don't no anything. If you like I can give some examples.

For instance designers: V&R, jan taminiau, percy irausquin, Alexander van de Slobbe, Lucas Ossendrijver ( worked for Kenzo, dior homme and now for Lanvin), Marlies Dekkers. Wilbert Das ( head designer and creative director of Diesel)

brands: Mexx, Oilily, G-star, Gsus, BlueBlood

And other people.... Inez van Lamsweerde (photographer) A lot of the ad campaigns for diesel where done by a dutch agency (kesselskramer). Doutzen Kroes (model)

And maybe you have heard about the Redlight fashion district?

Just tell me what you know or don't know!!!! Everything is really really welcome!!!!!

THANX:D

Welcom to the Fashion Spot, Arualla!

To ask for assistance on homework or any research you need to post your request in this thread in the Heart & Soul forum (personal topics): Would You Help Me With My Homework / Research?

I have merged your post here ... and you'll find that the link I left behind has brought you here.

At te moment I'm busy with a project that involves music from around the world.
But it's quite hard to find the right music if you know nothing about it.....

And since there are people from around the world here I wondered if any of you would like to help me.

I'm searching for music in the following category's:

Classical music.
Pop music.
Religious music.
Musical/film music.

Since I live in Europe the Western music isn't really a problem, but everything else pretty much is :ninja:.
So if you know any good examples let me know :)

Thanks in advance! :flower:

Don't know if tis is the right place to post it, since it isn't fashion related. But I didn't know where else to post it..

I had some good help from a musician,
so I think I'm on the right track now.
It's just some examples, it's a project for children
to show them there's more music then what they hear
on the radio/MTV..

I actually listen quite some Icelandic music (Sigur Ros ),
so already had that one figured out. But thanks anyway! ^_^

Paolo Roversi - information wanted!

I need to do a research about Paolo Roversi for a class, I'd like to read interviews, articles, everything I can get my hands on about him! The internets don't have that much info about him available, so I'd be tremendously grateful if any of you could provide this info or link me, or point out a book or magazine to look out for, etc!

As a sign of my gratitude, here are my kitties!

http://claire.belliard.free.fr/claire_roversi/ and a link with some of Roversi's work, in case you've never heard of him. Personally I love his work :)

There is a whole thread dedicated to him in the Behind the Lens forum ... probably everything you need to know and more. Use the advanced search to find it and if you need help with that ... go to the Member Support forum and there is a thread there for Navigating tFS for Newbies and one for how to Search more effectively.

Love your kitties by the way. There's a thread in Heart & Soul, where you can share pics of your pets.

Does anybody know what a "sterner test" is?
Thank youuu!

Do not know sorry^

Do shows like Entertainment Tonight, Etailk Daily, Access Hollywood, morning news ect... pay to do a Celebrity interview? Or is it a free Promotion Deal for both?
I am helping get a new show off the ground as part of my P.R internship and this is something I just thought of and I hope to resolve before I make calls on Monday and sound like a complete incompetent.
In my mind we should be paying the show to have us on, but then they should be happy to promote us.
:S
Thanks in advance to anyone who knows. I'm brandnew in this P.R workforce ;)

I've been on Insider twice (not as a celeb, just because I was involved in something they were filming) ... but I would say that no one pays anyone. It's considered a news program ... lite news, of course, but still news. So ... if you have someone or something that is interesting to them (that is your job in PR to convince them, give them the angle), they will send a news team out to film it. But it's no guarantee it will run on your scheduled date or even hits the air at all. You will get bumped if some young celeb ends up in jail or the hospital or some celeb dies or something. So you pray for a slow news day in Hollywood .... or that they run it on another date.

You might want to ask this question again in the Public Relations thread ... just in case a publicist might see it there.

Nice! I will definetly look up this Public Relations thread. I'm only an intern, but I wanted to know the answer for certain before I start working my charm lol. Thanks BetteT

The Connotations of Homosexuality in Advertising: Dissertation - help?

Hi

My name is Gary Moore, a 21 year old Fashion Design student in London. I am currently in my final year and at this point in time am currently editing my final dissertation and I was just wondering if any of the amazing people on this forum would have any opinions on the topic or any input that I may have accidently skipped over.

In my 1st chapter I have looked at the 3 main types of homosexual advertising (gay neutral, gay vague and gay specific) and the pros and con in which brands gain/risk when using these themes throughout their campaigns.

In the 2nd chapter I looked at decoding advertisements and certain brands who use homosexual themes quite often such as Dior, D&G and then looked at the fashion mags that they appear in and homosexual themed editorials within magazines.

3rdly I looked at masculinity and how it is played with throughout advertising and how gay advertising features within mens magazines.

Throughout I have interviewed stylist Nicola Formichetti and journalist Mark Simpson to get their experienced opinions on the subject.

I was just wondering if there was anyone here who could maybe point me in another direction/would have anything to add to this subject/have anything that i may have missed out?

Thanks very much for your time

-Gary
