Please Help Me With My Homework/Research/Survey

This is for "fashion" homework and research ... so I don't think we'd be of much help, AJ. Unless you want a commentary about his robes and sandals and how they have influenced modern fashion.

Hiya, I am graduating from my Fashion Design course soon and we are holding several fashion shows, I have been searching for music for my collection for almost a year; every song I hear is potential runway music, and yet nothing I find is suitable.
The concept is Aztecs and Spain, the Spanish Conquest of Mexico but also very modern, minimal.
I need something with a beat, I like fast paced and dramatic, think impactful like old Dior (though nothing literally from their runways).
It's killing me and if I don't find music myself my tutor is going to find it for me.
Any suggestions fashionistas??

"Modern" Mexican bands:


Nortec Collective's ..... some hints of traditional Mexican rhythms (which is influenced by Spanish music), but mixed with electronica. Sort of old world/new world mixed. Some of it really rocks out.


Ozomatli ... rock with a Mexican beat ... but they sing in English ... not sure if they have anything that might work ... Nortec probably has better choices.


Can't suggest anything Spanish ....

First .... I don't see a special effect aqt 0:43 but I saw something just as the runway section starts, about 5 to 10 seconds earlier. It's sort of a multilayered, telescoping effect of the model as she moved down the runway. It lasted only a second. So ... I'm thinking that if this is what you saw, but at a different place. MY thought is that it's probably not a planned effect ... it's probably just the buffering of the video as it's downloaded.

Here's a place where you can ask and might get an answer. I'm not sure if there are a lot of videographers here, but I think a couple of them do video too:

I'm an anthropology and art history student at Columbia University in New York, and I'm working on my senior honors thesis on the European modeling industry. I'm trying to speak to people who work with and in the modeling industry, such as models, scouts, bookers, stylists, casting directors, photographers, lawyers, accountants, et cetera.
