So many references, so many designer inspired looks (....Dior....), so many styles, so many different types of women, oh well....
Some looks were great but his references are too similar with the brands he's inspired to make his collections.
What happened here? I came to see a butt-ugly collection, not a decent, poetic one! This is improvement, I'm impressed. (Though I did get some doozies, like a blotchy black and red sweater and a dress with dangling feather spots; and if I said this was Marc Jacobs or Miu Miu, no one would even notice the difference. And hideous lipstick colors, as the user above me kindly pointed.)
Even the hair and make-up are Dior! Slicked back shiny hair, a strong lipstick color (in this case a very unfortunate color ), and the rest of the face looking natural.
Way too 1950s Dior a la Raf Simons.
Some of the satin skirt suits actually do look good but this whole collection just look TOO literally inspired by Dior and a bit of Prada.
Ohhhh and long flared skirts like Givenchy's Fall-Winter 2013/14 show!
I think Prabal can do some great clothes, like thoose lavender trousers that appeared in the first 10 looks (I guess?!), and one dress that was so beautiful IMO, I'm talking about the one that Grace Mahary was wearing! The 2 best items of this show for me!
For me the most obvious references are Prada Mens Spring-Summer 2013, Miu Miu Spring-Summer 2013, and Raf's work for Dior in every aspect (from shoes, to silhouettes, make-up, hair...)!
I don't think it's awful, he can do great work, but he's too literal! It's like a reference parade of other designers work!
