Just wondering what the resident fashionistas predict for next Winter? Are we going to see more urban gypsy/boho? What's next in terms of colours/textures/styles? Looking forward to hearing/seeing your ideas.
currently working the winter 05-06 trends so, here we go:
lots and lots of eastern europe/russian folk looks (including printed themes) , lots of monochromes, plain or printed velvets, diverse shades of blue, a real rise in yellow hues (including vanillas), continuation of volume, more full skirts, more floor lengths
mmm...my boyfriend's grandmother just made me a traditional Ukrainian blouse, very folk-looking, lots of threading details around the neckline, almost like a peasant blouse but not exactly - just very Eastern European looking...and it is beautiful - I'm so excited now! (not that I wasn't before, she's so awesome).
I was wondering the same. In French Vogue and Elle webs there are some small resumes of the upcomming trends for fall-winter: As Lena said, velvet and eastern european influences, and also the 60's, hippy, militar, checked tweed, volume, fur, and others.
And, of course, blue is the colour af the season, also a lot of black.
Thanks guys, sounds great. I'm glad yellow is hanging around, I it, particularly mustard-y shades- would love to see some pics of the Eastern European looks you mentioned if you have any handy...
no need to merge softie, this is where we will talk about fw05.06 trends, not focused on blue or on the '60s at all, its a general trend spotting topic and a very interesting one as well...
you are welcome Sylphide.. for eastern european looks, try the Kenzo collection, it must be at our designers&collections section, or else try vogue.co.uk or good old style.com
more trends for f/w 05.06
*silk satin in all weights
*shiny embroidered -or jaquard- details
*heavy wool or cotton lace
*the unflattering 'ballon' shaped skirts
*victorian high necks and puff sleeves
Oooohhh, can you please post a few pics of the trends you have mentioned Lena?
It's hard to picture this Russian Folk/Eastern Europe look without a picture in mind. I will look at the Kenzo colletion as well but I would love to see the exact looks you mentioned.
We always interpret winter fashion differently in Australia because of our warm climate.
