Princess Marie of Denmark

^ I was going to say that too, usually you don't see royal brides with that much cleavage but she did look really good nonetheless. I especially love the veil.

I almost thought that today was the christening! Prince Henrik looks absolutely adorable.

I wish they had put Carl in front of Henrik - it's a bit of a boring name IMO. But he sure is a very cute baby and I'm sure Prince Henrik the elder is very proud. He apparently gave Marie her new ring she was wearing yesterday :)

Ahhh what ring? Does anybody have close ups? I can't believe we only have one half picture of the entire event.

The first son of Danish Prince Joachim and Princess Marie was christened on July 26, 2009. According to tradition, the baby’s name, Prince Henrik Carl Joachim Alain, was first revealed during the ceremony. The new prince was born on May 4, 2009.

Bishop Erik Norman Svendsen officiated at the Mogeltonder church in Denmark, where Prince Joachim and Princess Marie were married in May 2008.

The Merry Royals

I adore how she looks. The dress is elegant and the color is perfect and her hair looks lovely.

BTW- I am confuzzled as to why they rehash Royal names birth after birth? Is it mandatory or did they came up with that nonsense all by themselves? Just curious.

The christening robe

The christening robe is made of cream-coloured jacquard-woven Swiss cotton fabric in Empire fashion with a round collar.

The christening robe is sewn with pin tucks on the bodice, at the end of the sleeves and on the skirt. The robe has buttons down the back.

Cotton lace has been used to trim the collar and the sleeves as well as for an insertion on the front of the bodice and between the pin tucks on the skirt.

The christening robe comes with a detachable petticoat in pale blue silk.

The christening bonnet is also made of cream-coloured jacquard-woven Swiss cotton fabric trimmed with cotton lace, and it has pale blue silk ribbons.

The christening robe is the work of Henrik Hviid, H.H. Design.
