^that is a nice dress on Mary but it looks like a mini wedding dress! she pulled it off very nicely but the tiara was too much..it was a day, small wedding after all
no one compares to Alex, not even Mary, as hard as she tries.
I do think Marie looked very pretty and i loved her dress.

I thought Mary's dress for the wedding suited her very well but the colour was too pale IMO to wear for a wedding and it doesn't go with the rubies either.

I liked Mary's dress too but the ruffles were too much for me. I didn't hate it though, she looked very nice.

And I think the tiara was required, the Queen was wearing one and even a non-royal billionaires wife wore a small one.

Well, it was a royal wedding after all. What happens is the guest gets an invitation saying diadem can be carried. So they wear them if they have them.

Actually Mary’s diadem was a gift from the queen. It belonged to her mother… so I can understand she use it so much. A sign of respect I think.

The diadem Mary wore belongs to Frederik. He inherited it from his grandmother Queen Ingrid as it is to be worn by the Danish queen. Mary has one diadem which belongs to her - it was bought on auction by Margrethe and Henrik for her - she wore it when they got married. Alexandra has one diadem which belongs to her - it was a heirlom which Margrethe gave her when she and Joachim got married. The diadem Marie wore was lent to her from Margrethe - it's also an heirlom.

I knew it had something to do with Queen Ingrid... not totally wrong I was.. hehe :P I know people here made a big dele of it when she used it the first time at some event for both of them before the wedding. (the red dress), because it had soething to do with Queen Ingrid.

Aussie rules as casually dressed Mary treats little Christian to ice cream

3 JUNE 2008

A sunny day in Denmark was the perfect excuse for the country's Australia-born Crown Princess Mary to slip out of her home in Fredensborg Palace on an ice cream run with her little boy Christian.

Wearing shorts and a sleeveless top the mother of two - who has a reputation as one of Europe's most elegant royal dressers - was clearly showing her Aussie roots with her informal attire.

Though raised in temperate Tasmania, Mary lived for a number of years in Melbourne and Sydney. The beach culture of both cities – and campaigns in Oz urging sun worshippers to cover up against the rays - had clearly rubbed off.

She and the two–year-old were both sensibly kitted out in hats as they ambled along enjoying the warm weather and savouring their cones.
