Having a necessarily editorial eye, I tend to overlook 'wearable' day/workwear. For something in the category to rest my attention it has to be very good. This is very good.
All the looks bar none are really well balanced. And the collection flows across several themes seamlessly.
Those first 3 looks adopt Preen's neo-geo disintegrating geometries. But not plunder for plunder's sake - there's a statement of intent there - the dissolution of the argyle, a metaphor for brand repositioning. I think the brand can take it.
I liked the prim sweetness of the middle 'secretary' looks which managed to feel bookishly sexy in very subtle ways.
Migrating to edgier proposals didn't feel too much and the sportsy, 60's inspired, future minimalism which closed didn't feel to be trying too hard or overwrought. Just smart, sexy in a controlled way, and utterly modern.
I want to work in an office full of Pringle girls.
