Michael's collection is ample proof that heterosexual men should be chased out of the fashion industry with projectile manpurses. He's dressing the women how he sees them—as video hoes. Yes, Michael was great on many of the challenges where he presented far less hoochtastic crap. But this collection is much closer to his portfolio, and I fear this is his real style. Poops to him.

Oh, dear. Michael is not a heterosexual but gay. So your theory doesn't have any validity. He's clearly influenced by the hiphop culture, which may be fine, but this look only caters to a particular demographic. His collection is downright ghetto-fab and I can say that because I grew up in an urban environment.

The more of see of Uli's, the more I like it.

I'm loving Laura's as well.

^wait, the stuff was on TV? or a website??

on Tv, on the Style Network, on an hour special they did called something like "Style Invades NY Fashion Week."

And I completely agree with birdofparadise, Michael's stuff looked significantly less off in the video than it does in pictures.

Honey, you are wrong! Micheal has said that he is STRAIGHT! He has said so on various interviews(if you have doubts read Andy's blog on Bravo about him). Your theory doesn't have any validity. And as for his influence and his demographic, most high fashion only caters to specific demographic(IMO) and must be changed before we(normal) consumers are able to buy and its "ready to wear". He is no different. WHy is it okay to call his collection ghetto-fab? I would go on a limb an suggest that if his collection had been designed by say Marc Jacobs no one would have called it ghetto-fab but because it designed by Michael, that label has been thrown in a couple of times.

His collection does not strike me as very urban to me, yes I can acknowledge that they are some elements of "street" in collection but as I whole I would disagree with the "ghetto" label that so many in here have label it. I think its hip and modern and too me very NY and reminds of the clothes that women wear to very expansive clubs. However, I am still not sure that I like his collection as much as I like his designs of the challanges.

I still say Laura will win(because I have feeling that he was eliminated).

This may be far-fetched, but perhaps Michael's didn't photograph well at all.

a lot of the shows i saw at nyfw looked BEAUTIFUL on the runway but then when i saw the pictures, everything looked cheap and like it'd sell at forever 21. So, i'm really hoping that Michaels is gorgeous in person and looks terrible online.

^ That is why I am waiting to see the show. Hopefully they will look better filmed then the did photographed. We will see.

Am I th only one that thinks Jeffrey's collection is over-rated. He is so full of himself I expect to see something like John Galliano or Alexander McQueen but the craft and intelligence of design isn't there for me. It's to cliche rocker and extremely borig for me. In a way trendy and something I would see Paris Hilton or Madonna wear and it makes me sick.

Uli's was cool but it was the same. But, I do see alot of people wearing what she makes.

Laura is the same as Uli.

Michael's wuz slightly disapointing but I feel if you look altogether at what everyone has designed you would choose Michael.

I agree, wuts the deal with the people branding it gettoh-fab, No one calls Cavalli gettoh-fab or versace. And it is wrong to attack a designer's sexuality Armani is straight, just because someone is straight that does not meen that they cannot design.:yuk:

Agreed! And now that I think about it, branding Michael "ghetto-fab" is a bit strange. There are elements in his collection that mirror Uli's, but no one one is branding her "ghetto". I highly doubt that anyone would be using that term if Michael was white.

^^ That's what I've been trying to say. Even the NY Times made a similiar comment about Michael's collection. I just don't get why people are freely labeling his collection ghett--fab.

Since i only catches the 2nd ep, i have no clue of what kinda personality of what the designers process and whomever has won a certain challenge. But judging of what i have seem here, i like Ulrike's collection the best, very well presented and excuted, nice detailing. Micheal's collection is sexy and cute. Laura's collection is sophisticated but some pieces are kinda OTT. Jeffrey's collection doesn't inspire me at all, it's kinda mixed of everything. Find the mesh and red polka dot series very thrift store liked. And i'm sorry to said so, he seriously belongs to L.A.

^ what is wrong with LA??
Having lived in both places, I happen to think LA style right now is better than NY style.
I guess it depends on your individual perspective.

LMFAO!!!

uli used alexander mcqueen's feather dress/scarf-- i mean exactly the same print-- from his spring 03 collection for her blue dress with the deep v neck and silver trim, what's up with that?

I loved Michael and his outfits all season long.....but I am so disappointed in his runway looks. Uli tops everyone else after the runway.

Why are you so sure he isn't lying?

I'm kind of surprised there aren't any out gays in the final four this time, though.

Let's stick to the style/design talk and less on speculation of the designers' orientations please :flower:
