Purchase the same designer bag in different colors?

I have the Fendi spy in green and brown and now I'm thinking I made a mistake. Not because I don't love them both. I'm just thinking there are so many nice bags that I could have branched out a bit. If I were in NYC, I'd be afraid they'd go out of style really fast but here in Michigan, they won't be commonly recognized as designer bags so they'll "last" longer. I might sell the brown on eBay. What do you guys think?

Never if it's a trendy, gonna be out in two seconds, bag. But the classics? Certainly! :flower:

I definetly agree, especially if you find a style you really love.

I'd keep both. The thing about them lasting longer is true, and honestly, if you love the bags then it doesn't matter if they're "in" or "out."

i'd never do that. there are so many great bags out there and i'd rather have 3 different types than 3 same ones.

I have done that before for my python silveradoes in gold and maroon.
I don't think that's necessarily a bad thing,especially for classics like the 2.55 or a Birkin!
In fact I hope to own a black caviar 2.55 someday..if I even get around to it! :p

Somtimes, some bags are better vehicles than others when it comes to colour and Balenciaga easily comes to my mind.
In fact, I am sure many members here have purchased Balenciagas in different colours.

Rationally, I do agree that it makes sense to have different bags in different designs than to have one design in different colours. However I feel that some bags just exlude a different vibe in different colours, thus there is a rationale behind the purchase of the same bag design in different colours. :flower:

I am curious....which one do you love the most? I am on the waiting list for the Petro Navy but am considering changing it for the brown instead.

Yes, I have a terrible habit of sticking to the same brand AND style. I love balenciaga and own it in four colors currently and don't think anything of selling one and buying another each season. A very sick addiction I have:woot:

i think i have at least two colors in every designer bag i own...it's sick, but it's so hard to stick with just one if you love the style;) however, bbags are probably the most addicting with color choices!!!

I don't, simply because I have a hard time buying really nice bags in anything other than black or brown. Although, the green balenciagas really are tempting me... I also pine for the day that I'll have a whole fleet of Birkins lol.

got 3 DIOR saddles ,, logo canvas .. strass with flower on denim.. and the russian saddle was introduced in summer 2002 :x

I find myself guilty of this all behaviour with the paddington! Otherwise I just buy one of what I like.

I usually only buy one in a style and brand, but the paddington is making me want more and more colors. I like the look of them and maybe it is the thrill of it being so hard to get and then finally getting the hard to find color.

The green is wonderful. I like the brown as well - I'm just second guessing myself thinking I could find a "different" brown bag. I wear a lot of black tho so I love having the green! But at least for now, I really like the style and am happy to have both. I'm new to designer bags - a novice - so there is a lot of $econd guessing going on.

I have 3 (!) MJ Stellas; one is the original brass buckle hardware Stella in a lovely plum color, and the other two are "new Stellas" with the brushed nickle push locks, in black and wine.

I use them as my work bags, and trade off depending on my outfit. Since I am basically carrying one of these three every day to work, I like having the different colors and rotating the use of the bags. The shape and layout of the bag is just right for my everyday life, my work papers and lunch and wallet and other necessities fit perfectly, and it fits over my shoulder.

Yep....I'm guilty as charged. I have 6 Balenciagas' currently & I don't think it's gonna stop at that number. I don't exactly know what's come over me but it's the first ever brand that managed to make me purchase the same style bag in an array of colors(white, black, taupe, sky blue, magenta & bordeaux).

I figured it must be that their colors are so rich, vibrant & multi-dimensional that other brands tend to pale in comparison that's making me reach out for my credit card season after season. :innocent::p

i got the DIOR SADDLE in about 3 different colours
the BALENCIAGA in 3 colours (and many more to come)
the FENDI BAGUETTE in 2 colours
and the CHANEL 2.55 in black but i am waiting to get it in brown and red/pink as well.

as for BALENCIAGA, they are just super easy to carry and the colours are always fab!!!

Yes, I have two Hermé
s from the "Glove"collrction( there less expensive line Black and the other burgundy.
Two Prada nylon, black and cream strictly for travel

If you like it go for it, I've 4 Balenciaga ( twiggy , 2 classique and the first) 2 Dior saddle, 2 Fendi spy and more...I change my bags even 2 times a day so I "need" more colors... if I like the bag why don't buy it in different colors?!

i suprisingly dont have any handbags that i have bought more of one color in...but shoes! all the time..im a sneaker freak! hah

i usually like to just buy different bags in different colors, but as others have said, i can make an exception for balenciaga ^_^

i just bought my first one (the messenger) in ink, and now im considering the weekend in black, and maybe another messenger in a brighter color.

the only other designer i would buy a lot of different colors in is hermes birkin, but im quite far off from being able to afford just one :innocent:
