a true master and icon
Oh NO, this is awful
Rest in peace Irving Such a great photographer and person
I hate death. This is never easy.
No! We have lost the master.
Pest in Peace
You will truly be missed.
Thank you for all your contributions to the world of photography
Rest in peace.
His pictures were so raw and amazing and really captured an emotion in all his subjects. You will be missed, Irv.
A fantastic artist.
May he rest in peace.
So sad RIP
My heart just sank
Fashion and photography have lost a true master. It's amazing to think that he worked pretty much up until the end of his life, that for close to 70 years he was able to continually create beautiful images.
Rest In Peace. He was truly one of the best, one of my favorites. Without any photoshop or retouching - his photos were always so real and so beautiful. So legendary, so extraordinary.
R.I.P Irivng Penn you will be forever missed. When I was 9 years old in school, I picked up my FIRST EVER issue of Vogue from a doctors office, without no interest in it, i simply opened it to a random page and it opened to a VERSACE ad by Penn, that image has forever been ingraned in my brain. From then on, thanks to Mr. Penn, I have been in love with Fashion. He opened up a whole new world to me. For that I will be forever grateful.
RIP.. a true legend.
its so horrible i just want to cry in bed and all those stupid poeple are going to fashion week parties i hate them. be a bit respectful, he has a tremendous impact on our culture. it feels like a father that raised me with real photography has died. Arthur Elgort was saddened too he talked with his daughter about him. i hope there will be hommages artiscically especially by photographers. does anyone already know about the funeral?
Oh God! RIP
I think we should relive him by posting all his images we can find in his forum
