Radiohead

i remember i totally freaked out when i heard 'talk show host'
in romeo+ juliet, then again i do that everytime when i hear a
song i love on a movie/tv show

kelly, same case in san diego. tickets went on sale at 10 am, i logged in at 10:02..more or less and they were sold-out.   .
i've been trying ever since, overpriced ebay included but it just seems pretty pointless, i should get out to some outlet but i'm sure it's wasted time

...i should've camped there goddammit!.

^ I know its so frustrating. I can tell you are a huge fan just from your postings over time on this board. Ticketmaster is pretty much a lost cause for anything exclusive...ticket brokers have programs that trick the server or something. It is a sad and shameful world we live in. I will probably NEVER get to see Radiohead. If priority went by how big a fan you are, I'm sure we would both be in (at face value):flower:

When they played in Australia, 8 of my friends got tickets to see them in Melbourne, flew over there, camped out for the week & on the night of the concert it was cancelled because of 'throat issues' They were so disappointed.

I couldnt get tickets either

I think I would never get to see them!!
I am going to try again when they do their actual tour once the album is out. I hope the album is good! I didnt really like HTTT

I wish they would check who buys the tickets - some people just buy it because they know a few RH songs and that just seems unfair. :(

^agreed.

I tried so, so hard to get tickets for Toronto, and when that didn't work out I tried Chicago... no luck. I know I'll see them someday... likely in Europe though, I don't see how I'll ever see them in North America at this rate.

..but most of these buyers have their tickets up on ebay, which shows how appreciative of the band they are.
if there was a stupid law not to alter the goddamn prices...just like the one in europe, we'd all have tickets and be happy.

my next try is berkeley next sunday, i'm sure i wont get to buy anything but i'll try...and in my dreams, i'll get them and trade them for embarcadero ones.

Anyone know if the band is in the studios working on anything new???

I used to love this band above all others, worshipped The Bends, their performance of the title track in particular on Jools Holland is my favourite live performance of any band ever. When Ok Computer came out it was all i could have hoped for. Their performance at Glastonbury in 1997 was legendary, especially Talk Show Host. Waited years and years for Kid A to come out and then when it did i was inevitably disappointed. The lovely intricate guitars were gone and Thom's meaningful lyrics were scaled down to almost nothing. Still listened to it though and it is a great album, just different, it's not my Radiohead. Amnesiac on the other hand was very disappointing, sounds like a collection of demos released to appease the record company/fans (which it kinda was). All except Pyramid Song that is, which is my favourite post-Ok Computer track. I bought Hail to the Thief but on listening i thought they had lost their way somewhat so my interest kinda dwindled after that. I know loads of people love it but it just didn't do it for me. Not after Ok Computer. I still hope they'll release an album which captures the magic of that particular record again but sadly i doubt. It acheived a level of near perfection that most artists never approach and even those who do seldom visit again.

Holy Christ that was a depressing post, everyone ignore. I hear the new stuff is a collection of old (unreleased) and new material. As long as Jonny plays that guitar like an escaped mental patient i'm sure it'll be amazing.

My friend is getting a VIP pass to one of these festivals where Radiohead are gonna play so he might meet them..
ARgghejgfdjgkd :(

berkeley tickets came on sale 10 minutes ago, i woke up at 6 and have been refreshing ever since.
in reward, i got a little white page that says `there were no tickets available that matched your request`. fabulous. ^_^

Thom is coming out with a solo album in July.. can't wait. Unfortunately I couldn't get tickets either, they sold out in under 2 minutes. I've been looking on Craiglist but people are selling them for $300 a ticket. :(

Some of my most favorite songs are:
Let Down
True Love Waits
Black Star
Fake Plastic Trees
My Iron Lung
Lucky

Oh man, that song brings back so many memories when I hear it.

I hope their new album is like all of the others. it would be a shame if they tried to do something "different" and completely screwed it up. i've loved every other album and hopefully will love the new one...
