A French luxury executive yesterday was poised to take the helm at Chloe, just days after the European fashion label's shocking ouster of longtime CEO Ralph Toledano, sources told The Post.
As reported exclusively Wednesday by The Post, Toledano was fired after more than a decade atop Chloe, a tenure that included designers Stella McCartney and Phoebe Philo.
On tap to replace Toledano is Geoffroy de la Bourdonnaye, a veteran of French luxury conglomerate LVMH and Walt Disney Co., who most recently engineered the turnaround of British department store Liberty, sources said.
De la Bourdonnaye's assignment will be to revive the lackluster financial performance of Chloe, a 55-year-old label whose enthusiasts have included Brigitte Bardot, Grace Kelly and Natalie Portman.
The label's profitability had surged under designer Philo, who was relatively unknown when tapped by Toledano to replace McCartney in 2001. But Philo left abruptly in 2006, citing personal reasons, and business has never fully recovered.
