RAQUEL Z PROFILES RUNWAY PERFECT BODY

Raquel Zimmerman profiles a runway perfect body in Vogue Paris August 08: PH Mario Testino via tfs
I vividly remember a journalist pondering Raquel Zimmerman's appeal , given his feeling that her beauty was so "nondescript". I also vividly remember a quote by David Bailey describing Linda Evangelista as a "protea' : the nondescript South African flower that changes to always match the background. Those faces are always ideal for long term careers in fashion. Then there is a conversation I once had with Supreme's Paul Rowland regarding the trick to breaking a complete newcomer onto the most selective runways of the business. "The body comes first." Was Paul's motto. Its a truth . Fittings are fast and furious and frequently stressful. The girl with the proportions that can hold the clothes with perfection gets confirmed the fastest and booked again and again. It is not just a proposition of being skinny. It is also a proposition of proportion: the scale of head to neck to shoulder to hips and legs, down to the calves. Having an eye means being able to see the nuances of that and of knowing which girls to present to those very demanding and impatient clients. Bad agents sabotage the career of models by randomly and haphazardly sending them out in every which direction, to every which client, passively hoping against hope that maybe one will stick. The brilliant agents target in a precise way. The shows are looming. The stakes are high. TI can't wait to see which new girls will walk the body into stardom. It keeps the game going no?

Thanks for the Reality Show editorial scans Diorette.

I don't think "nondescript" is the right word to describe Raquel Zimmermann's beauty, she is just a beautiful model that has learned
what to take and leave the rest....I think it's a combination of intelligence and
and direction.
I have to agree with ThiagoMello's statement that alot of her success and the
success of other models has been due to being in the right place at the right time, whether it's due to agent choices or her own choices.

When all is said and done, Raquel has made good choices and it has made her
what she is.....along with her body and face.

^^Couldn't agree moreB) I think it was opening Prada that really kicked her career into gear......so I think that's the lucky break you're talking about.
Although she totally deserves to be where she is in her career.......at the end of the day she IS a fantastic model, and her great attitude and professionalism helps too.:D

i won't use "nondescript" on raquel, either. that word needs to be reserved for girls like elise crombez (whom i adore equally). raquel has some most striking features, and i had always felt her time was bound to come

huge spread with Raquel Zimmermann
in Japan (with Rinko Kikuchi) by Mario Sorrenti.

From Vogue Nippon September thread! :woot: By Sorrenti I believe for the 1st time!

more..

This issue features, kind of, "Raquel in Japan" (with
Japanese actors/phorographers/real people on the street) by
Mario 42 pages. FOURTY-TWO!
It reminds me an old Italian vogue which featured
Christy Turlington 70-80 pages by Demarchelier.
Good for Raquel & Sorrenti fans, recommendable :D
sounds exciting!

I don't think she suits for Cavalli, I don't know why. The picture is beautiful but she isn't right for Cavalli.

^Oh I think suits Cavalli really well, i love her in the ads, especially the last one posted is beautiful:heart:

I like her cavalli shots, i wish there had been one with angela or frankie though!

I do too, I wish there were more shots of the girls together as well. I'm glad she got Cavalli ^_^ Now I can't wait to see Lanvin and more Fendi!

^ I can't wait to see Lanvin either.

I just saw a recent LV catalogue with her in, holding the monoflauage bag. Do we have some HQ's of the catalogue?
