Rayban wayfarers #1

No Rayban look good on me, all of them are too small I'll have to opt for Grey Ant ones :(

I LOVE Ray Ban wayfarers more now because not every tom, dick, harry & hipster are wearing them. All the fashion trend victims have stopped wearing them or the knock off wayfarers, so now it looks really fresh again. Everybody thought oversized sunglasses were "out" after 2007, but they are still around and very popular, that is what i believe Wayfarers are going to be like.

I think the style has moved away from a hipster street trend, and is now reverting back to the more classic style as seen on Audrey Hepburn. It should be worn with a preppy, sophisticated or put together look.

I really love that Anna Dello Russo and her assistants Vivien and Aurora are wearing Ray Bans more now, with anything and everything. They make it look so chic, grown up and fresh!

Oh and Kate Moss is also wearing the large Ray Ban 2140 54mm style constantly these days like Anna Dello Russo and Aurora.

Here are some photos of Kate Moss recently wearing her Ray Ban Wayfarer 2140 54mm sunglasses all around the world. She looks so good in them! :)

I read an article that said that these are "out". Im happy that there are other trends around so not that many people are wearing them everywhere I go.

Oh wow which article is that? I suppose an article is still one persons opinion isn't it. I think wayfarers and cat eye sunglasses are here to stay to for the next few years.

Didn't they also say back in 2006 that oversized sunglasses were out, but they are still her 5 years late. I think if you love something wear it and rock it like you've still got it ;)

Awww bless you!

I have the Ray Ban Wayfarer 54mm large ones, and at first they fell off my nose too. But then I just took them to the optometrist and they adjusted the ends of each arm, near the ear piece. It took about 5 minutes and it was free. They just melted them down and curved them so they fit around my ears better, so now they don't fall off or slide :)

I'm so late with that trend!
I didn't even bother to try them till a few days ago and now I think it'll be my next purchase.
They seem to suit me and are far more affordable than the Chloe & Chanel of my dreams!

^^I had all my sunglasses adjusted too. It makes them fit so much better!

You can actually adjust your sunglasses at home if you want a tighter fit. Put the middle of the glasses, the bridge, in between a pair of hair straighteners, let it warm up and just bend them in slightly.
(Just be careful not to touch the hot surface or it will leave a mark on your frames!)

I want to try this! But I'm kinda scared I'll do it wrong and my Ray-bans will never be the same.

The plastic is pretty durable so shouldn't be too much of a problem, you can use a hairdryer too. Just warm them up, not too hot, and they bend into shape. But if in doubt just go to your local opticians!

This is how they do it professionally to give you an idea-

(Don't think I'd want my Ray-Bans in his hands, judging by the amount he bends them!! :o)

I'd rather go with a professional, especially since it's free for adjustments. But that's just me. When I've done it, they adjust a little then you try them on - if you need it they adjust a little more, and so on and so on. Until they fit perfect.

I was thinking of getting a pair. Was just wondering though should they fit your head tight?

Well as long as they feel comfortable and don't fall down your face then that would be a good fit. But like we were discussing, they can be adjusted to fit tighter if you prefer!

Also another quick tip when choosing glasses in general- try to get your eyes centered within the frames, even if they're centered in the top half that's fine. And make sure they just sit just below the eyebrows (that way they don't mask any of your facial features/expressions).

The same thing happend to me with 54mm Square eyeglasses and I also adjusted them.:flower: It was for free as well.

i agree! i was just thinking this morning that i can bring mine back as i purchsed mine in 2005. it's been 5 years. time for a comeback lol

chance to buy on line a real vintage model?

Hello,

I don't know I am getting crazy to have my first rayban wayfarer. But not the oversize one, black like Andy Warhol and PP Pasolini. Any suggestion where to buy on line?
