Come on people. Let them go for 12 months until the whole thing dies down. You should automatically put them away once primark sells them for 2 pounds and you can't leave your front door without seeing them on fashion's every lowest common denominator.

I'm all for super vintage round tortoiseshell lennon/leon sunglasses. No one has them. They're bloody cool and if you don't wear them right you just look like a kiddy-fidler (so i hope they won't catch on). You know it make sense.

i want a pair but its so overdone now.
ill stick with my karen walker sunnies.

Yeah, I've been thinking to myself for the last year and a half that I can't buy them now because it's way too late, and its starting to really be true right now in my city. Before you'd see them ocassionaly, but now I sense they're becoming totally mainstream with everyone now..they're appearing more and more on the most unlikely people i'd assume to have them...:p

Though they've been much more mainstream in other places, my city is a a year delay on things lol.

for me they are just part of my style and not a trend...

^ You said it. (:

I don't wear them because i wear glasses and have no intention of walking into poles on the street. But some of my friends wear them all the time. Its just quite strange when you are in a shop and someone right next to you is wearing it too. Its awkward.

I think Wayfarers have been mainstream for years! They have been worn by Audrey H, Bob Dylan, the Blues Brothers...

Personally I love them - I think they flatter almost any faceshape. I don't like the smaller frames, though. I have some knock-offs, but I'd really like to get some authentic ones! (I had no idea the lens were so dark, though).

i got mine last year and i still wear them occasionally...i agree that they are overdone, i mean didn't all the knockoffs come out last year?!!
i still love the wayfarers though, i'm thinking of getting variations of the style. i don't think the lens are too dark...

I have very sensitive eyes, so the darker lenses on the Wayfarers work really well for me :)

And my personal opinion -- they frame my face well, shade my eyes well, and look good with most of my outfits, so even if they are played out, I will continue to wear them.
Perhaps that is a faux pas, but I'll just keep doing my thing ;)

as wayfarers are the only sunglasses that flatter my face i don't even think of getting others ^_^ though i also think that they have become more "trendy" now ..

Hmm, they are mainstream, though the thing is alot of people aren't familiar with Bob Dylan, Audrey hepburn even though they are so famous...They just see it as the new hottest thing and don't understand what they're all about...if that makes sense. And when they don't even suit the person, then that's when it all falls off a cliff :ermm::flower:

Can't agree more! I use them cos they suit my face and style pretty well + for the retro/cultural/icon thing! Don't care if they're in or not...

i personally do know Bob Dylan and Audrey Hepburn but even if u dont know it...u dont have to know all about the 'history of the wayfarer' to wear them...trend or not

I guess they are overdone everywhere except where I live. People over here usually wear the very oversized round sunglasses seen on so many celebs. Therefore I really want a pair of wayfarers because no one here wears them. I also think that they have become a staple by now. I like them in white or red or tortoise.

I personally love them - they have that awkward style to them that presents great character. It's funky - they're just awkward enough!

that's the good thing about Germany, nobody wears it until the trend is over
I don't see anyone wearing them although even New Yorker already sells a knock-off...
