Very nice debut. ^_^ I love his earthly colors and luxuriously flattering fabrics, perfect for Spring/Summer. :flower:

some nice pieces. the alligator coat :o it all seems a bit RTW
but i agree - good debut

I liek it, i think couture shoudl be a little more dressy less casual though, but I like it alot, very nice , I tried to post about this but my atachment woldnt work,

thanks astrid :flower:

nice collection. Some really great pieces thats for sure. not the most amazing pieces but definately a good collection. i agree, it's a bit under what haute couture normally is but if some designers are allowed to go over the top (galliano) some should be allowed to go under

 i cannot see the couture element throughout the collection, it does seem rtw to me (like Lolita said) and i certainly see something disturbing with his choice of lenghts here (cropped trousers , shorts etc)
still, I really love his emerging round toe shoes

thanks for the photos astrid :flower:

I agree! ;) I like the fact that some designers are presenting couture in a more wearable way (Chado, Ann Valerie Hash and Valentino) but this no matter how amazing clearly lacked something which is, duh, the most important element in a couture collection: the couture element (am i being redundant?). Sorry, I liked it . . . but for RTW! ;)

I believe it is RTW. I could be mistaken, but I'm sure it's is.

Yes, Astrid is correct. This is Spring 2004 RTW for Revillon by Owens. He, like Yohji Yamamoto, will now present his RTW during couture week.

Okay! ;)

Big shocker,But I love it. I really love the optic print coat.Ive never seen him use a print before. It seems to be like a luxe collection of his staples.
I love the cardigan,Is it fur? Overall the collection is what Rick Owens is all about comfort, luxury and sensuality.
I thought Revillon was a furrier? Is this the case? Its curious that there are (from what I can see) very little or no fur garments?

I just noticed there a few fur items.I guess they are changing their focus ala burberry.
that's refreshing...smart move on their part, 'cause it's a gorgeous collection!

I think he didn't have much time to put the collection together. Looks like he mixed his own line with a bit of fur. Normally we should have seen a collection at october paris shows. So this wasn't supposed to be couture. Revillon was just a guest for the couture week.
I like very much what he does under his own label: nothing revolutionary but understated chic with an edge (a la Helmut sometimes).
Very curious about the next collection. Good :lucky:!

I don't see the Helmut Lang references at all.Lang is a lot more utilitarian.I see some Ann Demeulemeester and CDG references but that's even open to debate.Overall the collection is very Rick Owens.Whom I happen to worship. One cannot understand the complexity of his work until one wears it.Its so comfortable and makes you feel good regardless of your size.He designs for a realistic body type and doesn't comprise his aesthetic. You can still have an edge and be sexy which is very rare with fashion.I think he is genius and his style is very human friendly.
