Am I right in thinking that designers who applied for the Chanel creative director position had to produce a collection as part of the interview process?
Honestly, you cannot fault him. It's a gorgeous collection almost flawless in it's execution. That navy gown with the floral embroidery, the lavender against the black, the mint green gown, the harlequin dress. Really just quite gorgeous.
I think the only "objective" mistake here ( it happens in three different gowns) is the flower placed in the crotch.
To my taste, I would erase ninety percent of the bows and flowers.
It is a well executed collection but it leaves me cold.
Hella brides. Is that well suited for his customer?
His concepts used to be interesting. Then things just dipped.
Agreeing with @Blayne266 that it seems like quite a few applicants had to produce a collection; and that, in not getting the role, they felt that the collections they produced should still see the light of day. Because those black and white moments could be interpretted as Chanel at some scale, for sure. Same goes for Jacquemus' last collection too, felt that with how purified his last collection was. I know y'all are not into Jacquemus so lemme be quiet with all that. haha
