i cant wait for the winter collection either. at first i didnt like the denim patchwork runway jackets, but they grew on me as soon as i saw them on the runway
also lusting after a pearl leather biker this autumn!!!

I think it's funny that ANYONE who wears designer clothes thinks in some way they're NOT elistist. Thats a whole other topic all together.

Anyway, Im kind of over Rick Owens, it's really played out now. I still love the tank tops and the short shorts (both of which I own) but everything else somehow already feels done.

Being elitist is a frame of mind. If one buys designer clothing for status or bragging rights then what you said would come into play. But if someone buys into a designer because they appreciate the craftsmanship, what the designer stands for, his/her ideals, etc. then it becomes something else entirely.

And the only reason I think you said the statement, "Rick is played out" is because you've seen that picture of Marc Jacobs in head to toe Rick......Rick has been doing the tops and leathers since he started in LA but if you think he's played out, I recommend you look at the FW0809 collection.

i went to maxfield's and tried on a couple of items yesterday. all 38s were out of stock and there was only one size 40 but it was the suede jacket. the SA insisted i try on the jacket with 2 zippers and i was reluctant at first but went ahead and loved it. it was huge on me though but i loved the construction though the leather was not what i expected it to be

poison-You look incredible in all of it.

Now why can't I run into well dressed women when I'm in Maxfields??......

you looks fabulous fashionpoison!

after my boss called my asymmetrical jacket 80s looking, it's twisted my view, so that a lot of RO stuff now looks 80s to me. gah, i can't wait to forget that comment lol. I gave him a completely evil look.

I can't help myself but i am really really wanting a pair of those awesome leather boots. I would wear them all the time if i could. When i was in a RO section of a major dpt store in tokyo, all the girls were dressed head to toe in RO and they looked fabulous. Next door the CDG girls were dressed in awesome pieces including junya watanabe dresses. sooo wanted to work there!

justlooking: it's funny you say that because when I've worn my ro assimetrical zip jacket i've been told I was very 'michael j. fox' (to be fair I was also wearing white hi-tops), and another time my friend said I was 'channeling michael jackson' (in a stylish way, she added, probably after seeing my perplexed expression)

fashion: you look amazing in that suede! the double zip leather is gorgeous as well, but I agree a smaller size would've looked even better.

I want the suede now... in dark shadow.

thaaank you!! well too bad i didn't get anything though...i have my mind set on the perfect jacket...preferably in my size, too  now that i'm looking at the pics of the black dress i'm thinking i  it!

I think that anyone who thinks fashion is only used to differentiate themselves from the poor, has sadly missed the point.

^ I wholly agree.

Fashion is fun, frivolous and most of all not-neccessarily expensive.

yeah rick has for sure missed the point. r u effin crazy.

and how r the tank tops not played out but everything else is??? get real.

come again?

okay ill come one more time. if u said ro is played out especially the tank tops then maybe that would make sense. but explain how ro is played out except for the tank tops? why cause they come out every season and tones of people have them and theyre basic tank tops? dont get me wrong i love ro tanks as much as the next guy but it seems like a strange thing to partially defend while denouncing an entire line. like i hate ann d except for the pins with the little poet boys theyre f**king next level. just seems a bit ********.
