RIP Isabella Blow 1958-2007

I remember watching an interview on her years back. Her love for fashion was immense and her contributions will never be forgotten.... R.I.P Isabella

i was just watching a video from mcqueen's s/s 05 collection and she afterward lamenting over the pastel coloured dominatrix hats he did with the pony-tail's.....

that's who she was in fashion....just somebody who wasn't afraid to do anything. she loved life in fashion, personality, history, beauty and most importantly creativity. she was and will always be regarded as somebody who pursued fashion with an innovative and emotive interest.

I Miss Blow

Summary by: Aurora James
Date Published: May 08, 2007

I am deeply deeply affected by the death of one Ms. Isabella Blow.
Isabella was more than a muse, she was an icon to many people such as myself.

A staple at Andy Warhol's factory and Anna Wintour's personal assistant in the 80s, she was perhaps best known as Philip Treacy's muse, the woman in flamboyant millinary.

Isabella progressed to not only discovering, but fostering some of the world's most influential and groundbreaking names in fashion from Alexander McQueen to Sophie Dahl. Plus, who else can rock a couture hat like that woman? ummm... no one. She will be sorely, sorely missed.

So, in a hommage to the deceased I will be wearing a hat every day this week. I will also be applying for extensions on my essays.

Hats off to you, Blow.

How strange that she's dead. I never really thought someone like her was actually... mortal
I know...it's so bizarre to think of someone like her dying:unsure: . I was SO shocked when I first read the news (on frillr.com) and quickly came over here to find out any more info...

It's so difficult for me to wrap my brain around the fact that she's actually dead. I've never imagined the fashion world to be mortal, in fact, I don't even question their mortality, I guess I just assume they'll be around forever.

Can you imagine the day when Karl Lagerfeld dies? When John Galliano dies? When Alexander McQueen dies? Nicholas Ghesquiere? Marc Jacobs? Olivier? JPG? Lacroix? Carine Roitfeld? Anna Wintour? It just doesn't seem possible in the slightest. (Let's hope those mentioned above are around for much longer, I don't know what I'd do without Galliano or McQueen or any others listed above:cry: )

We'll miss you very much, Isabella.:(

:( My father passed away only two weeks after we found out he had cancer. Few things can be as devastating as this. I imagine how hard it must be for her family.
