River Island

I was at Dublin in spring 09 and I went to River Island and bought stuff for like 200 euros. I loved the clothes then but now I hardly never wear any of them. There were a lot of leopard print things going on, not really my cup of tea when you think of it later on.

i love their bags but i really wish they didn't have the plates with "river island" on them...makes them look so cheap!

I totally agree, and rather tacky imo.

Not a huge fan, but I do love their recent cardigans and knitwear. Especially a khaki cardigan with a horse print on it.

^ i find they dish out better more wearable pieces in winter for sure...they always have some really great press pieces which i never see in real life in store though!

I try to avoid RI.. their clothes are not 'subtle' in the slightest.

Yeah, I'm not such a fan of RI either. Alot of their clothes are tacky as hell. That being said, I did buy a pair of plimsoles from there last year which were super comfy and I still have them! I guess you just have to hunt for the good stuff but I really would rather spend my money in Topshop.

I have one across the road and tend to find nice pieces now and then, and they're pretty good quality. I've found myself getting stuff and detaching all the garish muck they sew on and ending up with a cool flannel shirt or a nice dress that would have been great had it not been for the applique nightmares!

And also, they have some absolute rubbish there. They do try though!
