River Island

thats all very true but i thnk river island is the first place to head if youre going for a costume party and want to do an over the top tacky 80s neonlook lol
Oh yes definatley, why do they have so much neon anyway?

My River Island has a slippery floor.. i always find myself falling over  i only have a few bits from there; floral tights, a long gray cardigan & a black patterned t-shirt...

i love their bags but i really wish they didn't have the plates with "river island" on them...makes them look so cheap! :(

I hate those plates too! I thought it was just me! There's been many bags in there that I've wanted to buy but haven't because of the plates.

yeah :( mostly the large ones...they have a really cute white beaded cross body bag which doesn't thankfully haha

I'd be worried to pull them off cos knowing me I'd rip right through the material

I wish I knew why they had so much neon. Perhaps they get a great discount on neon fabrics so they just stick to it to lower costs, who knows?

The Oxford Street one(lower end one)always seems to have slippery floors as well!!

I bought my first ever River Island item last week! I always avoided going into River Island before because of the overload of gems, sequins, faux leather and neons on all most every single item.

You find a top, you look at it from the front and think to yourself in surprise, 'That's nice...', then you turn it over and there's a tacky plastic jewel stuck to the back.

This week I found a beautiful black lace dress with enormous puffed shoulders, but they didn't have my size. I think a trip to the Oxford Street stores is in order.

Has anybody ever had an interview for River Island? I have my outfit picked out I'm just wondering what kind of questions they ask:flower:

I haven't bought much there recently. I think a lot of the stuff is nice but I can't justify the prices (until they go in the sale at least, cause most of it does). I got a lovely necklace though, it's an anchor pendant on a rope chain and for a necklace it's huge, and at £12.99 it wasn't a bad price for the size of it. I'm quite liking the accessories at the moment, there's a studded bow headband on the website that I want.

I wouldn't mind a pair of their Miu Miu rip offs. I went to my local yesterday to see if they have them but they didn't. :(

I saw the pink pair in my local store a few weeks ago, but I didn't see them the last time I was in there (but I doubt they're sold out here already, most people in my town probably don't know what Miu Miu is). I thought they were quite nice. Though they're not the type of shoe I'd go for they are pretty, and the website picture doesn't really do them justice.

I'm not a fan... as many have already said, River Island is usually just a neon-and-chav-fest. However, I did buy a pair of pink winklepickers (not as nasty as you may think) from River Island last year and, although the sole fell off one of them about 4 months ago, they were nice while they lasted and were pretty cheap too.

ohhh river island, like everyone has said I have such a love/hate relationship with them. They can have something good then they add about 1000 sequins like everyone's saying and BOOM it's ruined.
The few things I've bought from there were in a/w, I think they do fall so much better than summer because it's quite hard for them to add tack in a fall season.

If you go to www.prshots.com click company index then go through alphabetically it has basically all the shops fall pieces photographed..including River Island. I may be getting a few things by the looks of it....
(I would suggest looking a new look, marks and spencer limited collection and wallis- 3 stores I don't usually shop at but they probs have my fav things on this site)
