I absolutely love this girl!! I can appreciate how selective her agency is being with her bookings. Maybe they are waiting for some the other hyped up girls to dissapear. Eventually, I could see her being a huge model, kinda like what has happened with Karmen Pedaru. Does that make sense?

Read an interview recently with the main guy over at Elite (forgot his name). When they asked him which of his models he thinks will be the next big thing or something like that, he named Roberta, and only Roberta. Good that her agency has such faith in her.

It's a shame we didn't see her at HC again. Was delighted to see this pop up in my blog reader today:

NEW FACE: ROBERTA NARCISO (Elite, NY)

Born in the country Angola. Legs a mile long. An incredible look. It’s almost an other worldy experience when you first set eyes on Roberta Narciso. That is until your trance is interrepted with a sense of just how grounded and authentic Roberta is from the inside. I’ve worked with Roberta twice now and in each case, she was cooperative, good spirited, and on a personal level, struck me as a sweet girl whose authenticity becomes immediately apparent to those willing to receive it.

She took the time to answer a couple of questions:
  • altamira: if not yourself, who would you be?
  • Roberta: I don’t want to be anybody else, I want to be myself.
  • altamira: your favorite hero in Real Life?
  • Roberta: Agostinho Neto (first president of Angola, famous for liberating Angola)

The girl with the most selective bookings in recent memory is about to go global! Y'all ready?

But it was Roberta Narciso, an Elite agency contest winner with mile-long legs, who really caught Weir’s eye. “She’s from Angola, so she’ll walk like royalty,” he said. After she took a few strides, Weir enthused, “Oh my God, that is crazy. This does not happen in America.”

Guess they are keeping with the theme of EXTREMELY selective bookings. I guess it's a good idea but I'd love to see more of her.

I wish she wasn't apart of that lackluster cast at Thakoon.. In my opinion her first show should've been Marc Jacobs then finished things out with Calvin Klein; 2 shows tops, now that's selective. She was def. a standout at MJ for me. Keep doing your thang Roberta!

I think her agency is doing really well at keeping her exclusive, you don't really find out about big shows until right before. In being too exclusive you could also ruin a girl's season if things don't turn out like the agents think. Thakoon isn't a bad lineup - Vogue loves that designer and she seems to be going the route of becoming a very expensive girl.

^I guess her bookings are strategic? Not sure. I was just utterly underwhelmed by Thakoon's cast this season and her appearance there threw me off. But I totally understand what you're saying about being too exclusive can have it's downfalls cause I've def. seen it happen (won't name names).. I just hope she keeps this certain 'exclusivity' up in Paris!
