^^that's exactly what i've been trying to say about basically every cavalli collection in the last year.... and also what i think has been going on with dolce & gabbana for so long.
i get that as a designer, the things you like and what you feel looks right is a perception that may change over time... but the identity is something that should remain untouched. You may wanna experiment with this or that theme, one or another decade, ... but there should always be a slight feeling of déjà vu that identifies your creations.
the way i look at it is, if i was to edit a book on any of these designers work, would these recent and rather bland collections make it to its pages? if i was to tell someone what cavalli stands for and had to pic a handful of images, would i chose any of the newest?
