I adore Lori too! She was only 14 and she's described as "the most beautiful girl in L.A." It was definately fun times. I wish I'd been there too. And then I'll steal Jimmy from her!!!!!!!!!!! I think she still loves him, because she didnt get married, but she has a kid now.


Miss Pamela, who claims to be the American groupie that Jimmy Page loves most, fights with 14 year-old newcomer Lori Maddox: “Jimmy Page loves me, got it? Me! He’s my piece”, Pamela says. To which Lori replies: “He’s not a piece, he’s not your piece, and if he’s so much in love with you how come he’s not sittin’ with you, huh?”. Despite Lori’s protestations that Page is a sweet guy, we hear that he “loves it when girls fight over him”.

Here are some scans from Miss Pamela's book I'm With the Band.

It's funny, in the book, she talks about how there was a rivalry between the first generation of groupies (her and the GTOs) and the second generation of groupies (Lori, Bebe, et. al.). When she was around 25, her groupie status started to decline -- the younger girls called her an old hag!

Also, back in the '60s and '70s, she said that being a groupie wasn't considered a bad or sleazy thing as it is now. It's interesting to see how the word "groupie" has become almost derogatory. Hell, I'd be a groupie if there were any rockstars worth being a groupie for (and just for the record, I'd still bang Mick Jagger & David Bowie)!

These lucky girls have so much fun, and I'm really jealous now! Micheal Des Barres looks really creepy though.
