she claims she's a mosh pit girl and if u look at her latest videos she's definatly rocking out. She is a pop star but she's got kind of a rock n roll image Ill post more pics of her later

i'm a fan of pj harvey sense of style, she's been changing since beginig of her carreer which i thing is very rock and roll, i agree wich most of you .. kelly and avril are not rock chks.
But in fact polly is one of the best writers-singers-performers-fashionista in the music bussines.. and as lola montes i guess if there is a PJ Harvey thread here?

with all due respect, one song does not a rock star make.

among the qualities that distinguish rock music from pop is attitude, originality, and, in this age, marketing. the line is blurred when pop stars attempt to take on the style of rock without the substance. this has always been an issue in rock and roll, from back when it was rhythm and blues.

see, i am an aspiring ethnomusicologist, so don't get me started. i could literally go on and on.

i agree that shakira has talent, but at this point in her career she falls nealty into the pop category. so does avril, whether she likes it or not. kelly clarkson - fuggedaboudit. she's a creation of the industry if ever there was one - no edge there at all.

pj harvey, sheryl crow - those are rock women with style. i'm surprised sheryl doesn't have her own thread - or does she?

I agree that 1 song doesn't make the rocker, and if you listen to her English stuff, some of it screams "I'm a pop song." That's why I stick to the spanish, its much better. It isn't "dictionary rock" but it isnt pop either (possibly folk, even) .

I melissa auf der maur I saw her last year she came with The Cure, Interpol, Mogwai etc... I took a few pics of her.

Thanks Polen for your PJ pics;I love PJ and I think she deserves her own thread but unfortunatly I don't have that much PJ 's pics so I don't dare to open it myself... I like Alisson Mosshart too even if I've nerver seen pics of her like editorials. On every pics I found (very few actually) she's on stage... But I will see her on concert next week, hey! I'm so excited that I want to say it to the world!!!
