Rohit Bal S/S 08 India

.................... to start the blue collection inspired by the Iznic tiles of Turkey. Tiles that were made centuries ago and that are still being made. The main colour of the collection was blue, which is the main colour used in those tiles," said Bal.
Voluminous as well as long flowing dresses in shades of blue, ivory, lime-green and black dominated the designer's Spring/Summer 2008 collection

"I wish i had more hands 'caus id like to give this FOUR THUMBS DOWN"

IS this guy the galliano of India GOA? Is there a reason why he does SO many looks? I presume his market must be quite big?

Im not liking this one bit, or any of his previous collections. ALthough there may be
wearable pieces, design wise this makes me cringe. Its quite probably the uber tacky zoolander style presentation that is putting me off. But i guess they love the whole spectacle of things out there in India.

yes his market is quite big .he needs to show so many looks!!!
and i dont think there is anything galliano about it IMO

evryone expects it ....evrywhere not just in INDIA...isnt it?

oh agreed.. perhaps i did not articulate my response properly.

I said that in regards to the whole cinema-influenced culture, and how fashion and "CINE" style are so related there (I've been there several times and I have noticed that)

People there, more so than anywhere else, like a heavily dramatized show.. Like where else can you see designers dancing on the runway? I mentioned galliano because of the whole extravaganza thing..Perhaps Roberto Cavalli would have been a better choice. Ok so I take back Galliano .. This show seems like a fashion party..the people look like theyre about to burst out into a dance number, thats how it strikes me -
as "Kitsch Extravaganza"
