Rooney Mara

Did the media blow up that L&O quote? What other outlet is picking up on that?

So far, here and Perezhilton which is nothing to snark at. Both have big audiences and I don't want people painting her as a bad person.

I don't want another Megan Fox case in our hands.

I adore her Carven coat.

In my opinion her all interview's outfits are soooo great. I don't know how she does it
And agree with you guys, she should keep her hair. It makes her more characteristic. First time when I saw her (in short, black hair) I was like "OMG what's happen with her hair", but now I think it's nice change.

I don't get the hype for this girl.
she is clearly a poor copy of Cate Blanchett and Tilda Swinton, but can't reach their levels.
besides, what is so amazing about wearing black all the time???

Copy of Cate just because she wore Givenchy?
These are her first major events, comparing her with those two is unfair imo...
Did we say wearing black is amazing? I think people have been talking about the black hair

While black might be a safe and easy color to wear (think Aniston) it is far from easy to look amazing in it and create this distinct, almost silent era star, look which Rooney (or her stylist/Vogue) does. Her style so far has been fantastic and an amazing change from what we usually see on the Red Carpet.

And she does not wear black all the time

well the hype for myself is all about her vibe plus from what i saw - she did great, great job playing LS.
And dressing - well it is kind of refreshing to see a newcomer, a young girl, dressing not "lovely" but very elegant, simple, minimalistic.
We saw sweet newcomers all the time so it is a nice change.
It is def. not someting super oryginal - givenchy, black, little goth-rick-owens like, but still - i really admire her way.

^Rooney is 26 years old. Certainly not old but I wouldn't categorize her as a "young girl".

i think she meant young as in a new up and coming actress that has a breakout role.

I wasn't too excited about her at first, but she's quickly proving me wrong.
I'm saving my final judgement until I see GWTDT next week, but she's getting rave reviews.

The hype is understandable considering the depth of the role she's playing.

She looks gorgeous at all the premieres.

After reading her Allure interview I'm starting to think she may be better seen and not heard.

it seems and sounds like she is bit full of herself.
i did read one interview where they could not start before she get´s some hot water with lime, and when she got that she said she do not wanna the hot water and lime to be in same cup but seperated...
:rolleyes::innocent:
HELLO, say it before.

yeah, i meant newcomer, not young girl.

well i am kind of done with those interviews "oh i loved all my roles", "yeah the cast and craw was sooo great , we were like family bla bla bla ", oh come on , maybe coz i am from europe but well i prefer to read honest and even judgmental interview, not those hollywood, promotions cr*p.

Yeah, because as an American I love to read only lies and non-judgemental interviews:rolleyes:

Seriously, no one has a problem with honesty. The lack of tact and seeming entitlement are what's rubbing people the wrong way. I've read plenty of interviews where actors have spoken about roles they weren't fond of. They managed to do so without coming across self-important or insulting to the people who made the movie and the audience who watched it.

HELLO, say it before.

Her comments about Law & Order and A Nightmare on Elm Street were foolish and stupid and she will probably regret saying it because its going to stick with her for the rest of her career but I don't see anything wrong with her asking for hot water and lime..can you post a link to that interview?

Mod Note: It's fine to touch on things of this nature, but it's beating a dead horse at this point. Move on, and back to the purpose of this thread, Rooney's style. Thank you.

Today' Show Appearance

Rooney Mara drops by NBC Studios to make an appearance on Today on Monday (December 19) in New York City.

The 26-year-old actress chatted about her new movie, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, and finding out that she’d been nominated for a Golden Globe.

“We’d had three premieres in three countries, in three nights, so I was kind of half asleep,” Rooney said of learning about her nomination last week. “I kind of forgot that that was happening, so I was very surprised.”

As for why she signed on to the movie - and subsequent sequels - Rooney added, “I had read the books, and like the rest of the world, I’d fallen in love with the character.”

just jared (where you can also see the interview)

Wearing white and looking grogeous, that way evebody is happy :) :)

I really love how they style her hair, it works with all her outfits but never gets boring.

^I actually would like to see her with her hair down for a change :)
