Discovered in her native Athens at the age of 17, Georgiou entered fashion as a complete novice. “I wasn’t really aware of how a model should look,” she says. Georgiou has since grown up in the industry—she’s now 25—and developed her aesthetic sensibility both in front of the camera as a model and behind it as a budding director and rising-star photographer shooting mostly portraits. She credits her artistic evolution to the lessons she learned backstage. “Modeling taught me that rejection doesn’t mean failure,” she says. “I’ve become responsible, independent, and disciplined—and I don’t feed off disapproval.”
