For her first pre-fall season, Rosetta Getty evolved her signature calm sophistication, this time looking to architect Louis Kahn and artist Louise Bourgeois for inspiration. Their common thread, she noted, is how “everything seems very simple and clean, and then, when you look deeper, there is a whole other dimension.”
The designer approached the lineup in a similar, more-than-meets-the-eye way. A loose cashmere-and-wool cardigan, for example, was shown with a crisp striped blouse and wrap skirt — a classic silhouette, were it not for the latter’s slit unveiling an architectural cutout. Elsewhere, Getty added pattern to her aesthetic via a graphic plaid wool top featuring a sashlike detail that drapes around the neck, which she teamed with slouchy plaid pants.
