About the first, i once saw an interview with john, where he mentioned that the all-over logo was his idea and everyone at dior (finantial part and creative team) were horrified about it (understandably)
he said that after those rasta, surf, etc collections sold so well, specially in new markets like japan was in those days, he was "forced" (of course he didnt say forced) to keep those as not-seasonable lines.
What is even more surprising, is that after the long logo period, Sidney Toledano was the one to announce that they wanted to change Dior and go back to classic. He said something like that after selling 300 J'adore Dior t-shirts in one day, it was clear how cheap the label had become (took them how long to realize that?!?!)
about the "what he does in two days" thing.... couture show was yesterday and in my very honest opinion... it's just the same old same old with bigger sequins this time! even since fw06.07 couture show, it has been the same old display of bright colours and lavish golden embroideries!
