Nineteen-year-old Ruby Aldridge’s modeling success could be chalked up to genes. Her mother, Laura, was a Playboy playmate in the seventies; her sister Lily a Victoria’s Secret model; her other sister Saffron Burrows an actress; and here brother, Miles, a fashion photographer. In fact, her older sister Lily introduced Ruby to modeling in 2005. Then the California girl started to make waves in the high-end commercial front, booking campaigns for DKNY and Coach. Meanwhile her spreads in French Jalouse were coming out monthly. Off set, the music-loving, concertgoing model became something of an Internet sensation when she started to pad around the East Village with Peaches Geldof, Harley Viera-Newton, and Cobrasnake. In February Ruby unexpectedly landed a spot in the fall Marc Jacobs show. That single booking sparked a frenzy, and she then opened for Marc by Marc Jacobs and House of Holland, and closed Lanvin in Paris. And yet another model scenester is on the rise.
