Ruslana Korshunova

On A Model Anonymous: http://amodelanonymous.blogspot.com/2011/08/murder-mystery.html

A while ago a beautiful model from a small town was found dead in a New York street, the papers said it was suicide, then it was Mafia related, then drugs related, then weight related, then cult related. They came up with all kinds of conclusions but ultimately printed the ones with the drama added to it. They didn't mention that this girl was just a simple kid from a small town, who didn't drink or party, who didn't join the russian girls on dates with rich dudes but stayed at home and worked hard to get the jobs she did. Nor did they mention that her agency owed her money, which she was going to take them for court over and the minute she threatened to do so - and tarnish their image - she was found dead.
Perhaps its a little overdramatic to claim they had her killed over petty cash but the motives were all there... better yet, when she was found she was lying across the street from her beautiful financial district apartment. If she'd killed herself... wouldn't she have landed on the same side of her apartment? I suppose we'll never know, but put it this way... her poor mother never got over the loss of her daughter, the daughter who took care of her family in poverty and did nothing wrong but be beautiful....

RIP

FrankieP this should be on the RIP thread but anyways, I just don't like how people talk about Ruslana, of course she go out, we've seen pictures of her with friends and such I doubt models are slaves of work, they do work hard but not to avoid social and yes, Ruslana's death is strange for the way she landed, but as the article says there's a lot of drama about it and nothing certain

Nanne I in many ways share your opinion, the shows many things, the most important is well remembering her , we can not take the pain away from all that were close to her sometimes we want to know, the fact is she has made a difference to the world, and the very fact we remember her is so very important it shows humanity, that she was more than a face, so thank you
Fantomette and everyone who remembers, sometimes that is just more important then facts:flower: really great pictures and words:flower::flower:

Tonight will be aired on french television a TV movie that is the adaptation of "Le Monde à ses Pieds", the book inspired by Ruslana's story. It will star Solweig Rediger-Lizlow and Rossy de Palma. From what I read they insist on the fact that the movie is a fiction and they changed the name of the character and where she comes from for exemple. I find it nice that they don't pretend it's based on the life of a real model since nobody knows what her life really was.

I'm watching it right now, and they really based the story in France except the girl have a russian background.
I've read the book, it was really moving whereas that TV Movie is just OK, but it's nice to see that Ruslana's spirit still lives.

Thanks for the information about that tv movie. Wished we could find a fragment of it, so I can have a look as well:)

Indeed glad her spirit lives on:flower:

It's available in streaming here for a week. I'm curious too I'll watch it this weekend.

@Fiammifero The book has been mentionned in the previous thread but I don't recall anyone who gave their impression after reading it before papillote.

^thank you but in my case it only showed the advertisement and then nothing happened. I tried it at two pc's and also a mobile device but no luck.

Perhaps it's only viewable within France for a week, just a thought?

Thanks a lot anyway!

i tried to watch in streaming but it doesn't work for me neither, i think it is only for french territory. I found a brief scene of the movie, you can get it here :
