I always loved the nina ricci tv ad, I discovered through tfs that it was her and suddenly as I was getting to the end of the thread I knew that she was dead, it's extremely sad.
Post #1959 is beautiful but macabre the magazine used her image after she died. I saw this photo a month ago on the newstands and was too shocked to believe it could be her but it is obviously. Shame on them for exploiting her image out of context to their intentions which is to sell wine.
^ Well they're not exploiting her image, just using a picture they bought the right to use. That's what happen for all pictures. Don't get me wrong, this cover shocked me too before I realized it wasn't a fashion magazine. The persons who chose to publish that specific picture probably didn't know/care about the model, they just bought the right of a pretty image, a pretty girl who catches the eye. We know who Ruslana was but for most of the people she's just an anonymous pretty face that sells.
On the opposite, when the fashion industry keeps on using Ruslana's image in a commercial way I find it really disturbing because they know her story. The other night the Nina Ricci commercial was aired. It's been a while now, couldn't they shot another video?!
So beautiful, always and forever.I have a lovely picture from Allure of her,and I remember my mom visiting and I showed her the picture and it was just after she died.We were both so sad and disturbed.Maybe if she'd had more contact with her family it would've been different.
