^ Strange how they didn't use the terms haute couture or Gucci Première

I think everyone is in a collective state of shock of how he + senior execs are totally hopeless and whats happening in gucci now is just shockingWhy is he so fascinating? Every time I see his thread bumped up I just... don't. get. it.
Well yeah, but I don't want to spend so much time discussing it.I think everyone is in a collective state of shock of how he + senior execs are totally hopeless and whats happening in gucci now is just shocking
Now that you mentioned it - actually he might be surprisingly fitting there!! No matter what’s designed there it still sells like pies right lolWatch him aim for Hermes or Zegna, where his no story-telling no personality collections will actually be welcomed
he will flourish there 😁Now that you mentioned it - actually he might be surprisingly fitting there!! No matter what’s designed there it still sells like pies right lol
^^^Yikes he's not even a competent menswear designer as Sartori or Nichanian. His sensibilities for luxury goods is worse than Nadège.
You guys are pitying a guy who became a millionaire in a short time just by doing mediocre jobs.

Respectfully, Sartori at Zegna isn’t really what one would call a competent menswear designer , is he? fabrics and tailoring is a totally different thing from design. The guy designs the same thing over and over again every season , it’s nothing sensational…. To me anyway.^^^Yikes he's not even a competent menswear designer as Sartori or Nichanian. Really! Because for me personally on the contrary i LOVED Pilati!^ well he's not my favourite either, same with Pilati ( i couldn't bring myself to like his works at Zegna )
He did a fantastic job at Zegna/Agnona. They weren’t visionary because Agnona had the potential to truly establish itself as voice in that ultra luxe market and his menswear at Zegna was fashion without feeling desperate.Really! Because for me personally on the contrary i LOVED Pilati!
Not sure i agree with you. To me it lacked personality and charisma. Yes, it's quiet luxury and all that but is it fashion...? We can get that in Loro Piana. One thing is great fabrics, colors and tailoring, another thing is revolutionary and unconventional design. My two cents, of course. He did a fantastic job at Zegna/Agnona. Those prices are ridiculousThe drop in sales was a mixture of a) the economy at the moment, b) the lack of strong and discernible vision, and c) the aggressive increase in prices.

GUCCI
Even Valentino does not have those kind of price points (for equivalent designs and fabrics) :

But the promise of Zegna and Agnona is not to drive fashion forward. It was right in the middle and it has aged well for collections that are now a decade old.Not sure i agree with you. For sure. But then again, for me anyway, zegna and agnona dont have the signature for me. The fabrics are fantastic and the styling and colors are distinctive but that is all. They dont have to be fashion forward but I think repeating the same collection in different settings every season is tragic. Pilati naturally has charisma to him so as a customer i just naturally prefer him. zegna seem to have a great pr team and are very good with social media from what i see so perhaps this is also why they are so popularBut the promise of Zegna and Agnona is not to drive fashion forward. It was a relevant proposition, beyond the idea of quiet luxury.
And I hope that a customer of Zegna or Agnona by Stefano Pilati expected more from their clothes than function and great fabrics. There’s not so much excitement to have in a Loro Piana store after all.
The sad thing is that the brand is so popular now that it makes some of their customers believe that they have a sense of style. It’s just great quality basics…
